Verses on Prayer
It has been quite a week. Thank you for praying for my voice, it held up and I made it through the taping of the new DVD teaching series for "What Happens When Women Say Yes to God." This six week Bible Study will be released in the spring of 2011.

Today, I promised my P31 devotion readers that I'd list out some Bible verses on prayer. I need these verses today. I need their comfort and their connection to the heart of my God.

As you read these, let your heart be soothed and reminded what a gift it is we can talk with God. The God of the Universe longs for His girls to sit with Him and talk about whatever is on their heart.

Boy do I need to remember that today.

I'll be spending some time with the Lord today praying about many things. It would be an honor to pray for you. You can leave your prayer request by clicking "post a comment" below and following the prompts. If you need to post as anonymous, please feel free to do so.

"…The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective" (James 5:16).

"Look to the LORD and his strength; seek his face always" (1 Chronicles 16:11).

"If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land" (2 Chronicles 7:14).

"My voice You shall hear in the morning, O LORD; in the morning I will direct my prayer to You, and I will look up" (Psalm 5:3).

"And when you pray, do not be like the hypocrites, for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the street corners to be seen by men. I tell you the truth, they have received their reward in full. But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you. And when you pray, do not keep on babbling like pagans, for they think they will be heard because of their many words. Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask him" (Matthew 6:5-8).

"Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful" (Colossians 4:2).

"Be joyful always; pray continually; give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus" (1 Thessalonians 5:16-18).

"And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the saints" (Ephesians 6:18).

"Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus" (Philippians 4:6-7).

"I want men everywhere to lift up holy hands in prayer, without anger or disputing" (1 Timothy 2:8).
