Just a couple of announcements before we get into today's discussion. Yesterday, my office told me we have 530 people registered for the She Speaks conference, which means we only have 70 spaces left. So, if you've been toying with the idea of attending but haven't registered yet, Carpe Diem sweet sister.
Nothing like throwing out the only two Latin words I know in the wee hours of the morning, hunh?
The second thing is I had some meetings yesterday that made me excitedly aware I need to gather a band of women who feel called to be more actively involved in some ministry projects I'll soon be working on. I have no idea what to call this group nor if any of you would be interested in joining in something I can't even define yet.
But, if you have felt a stirring to be sort on the inside loop of my ministry where you will be equipped with inside scoop to share with your sphere of influence at strategic times, I'd like to connect with you. And it would be a total bonus if you like to pray crazy big prayers as well.
So, if that's you---- inside loop- inside scoop- crazy big prayer type who has felt a stirring while reading this announcement that's clear as mud, e-mail Holly@Proverbs31.org and simply write "inside loop" in the subject line.
Whew.
Now, onto our label situations we talked about yesterday.
Clearly, from your amazingly honest comments, I'm not alone with this label thing.
So, here's what I did to overcome one of my labels. Remember the messy closet that made me define myself as a messy person?
I did three things:
1. I recognized the label as a lie meant to tear me down.
The reality is my closet was messy. Yes, but that doesn't make me a mess. It makes me a child of God who has a messy closet. The last time I cruised through Romans 8 verse 37 was a clear reminder, "In all things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us." In all things. More than conquerors. Through HIM who loves us.... and never labels us.
2. This circumstance is a call to action, not a call to beat myself up mentally.
A messy closet means I need to hit the pause button on life one day and clean it up. And if I can't figure out how to clean it up, then I need to find someone gifted in this area to help me. And that's exactly what I did. My friend Debbie has the spiritual gift of closet organization. So, I saved up my pennies and paid her to come and share some of that Jesus equipping with me.
3. It feels good to take action.
Taking action and tearing down this one label in my life has given me the courage to tackle others. Why not try it and see?
Sweet sister, work on one of those labels today. Do something proactively to tear it down. Even a small step in the right direction will build up your confidence.
Then come tell me about it.
I love you sweet bloggy sisters. And I totally love doing life with you!
