Hey sweet friends...
For a year now I have been feeling like my little spot in the internet world was like one of my childhood homes. The Hawthorne Road house.
With its olive green shag, orange accents and the hanging owl macrame delight, it was a few years out of step with the emerging decor styles. Now, if you happen to have olive green shag, orange accents and hanging owl macrame delights, you are retro in the best kind of way and I respect your coolness factor more than I can express. I'm serious. I wish I could make retro look cool.
But I can't.
And I couldn't make peace with the red background from my old blog any longer. We had to break up. I love red mind you. But I love it in a friendship way not a 'hey let's get married so I can look at you everyday' kind of way. So, while I love red on other people's blogs, I just couldn't live with it on mine any longer.
So, I decided to redecorate my bloggy home.
And in the spirit of an open house, I've decided to make this upcoming week, a week of total surprises. Yes, let's do that.
I'm so excited.
Stay tuned.
Oh and I might I share one more tidbit with you. I have issues with the word 'surprises.' It's like a mental block I can't explain. I can't ever remember if that first 'r' is supposed to be there or not.
Therefore, I only write that word in an electronic version where one of the greatest gifts to mankind is available- the spell check.
Yes, if you win one of the surprises this week and I send you a little handwritten note along with it, you will find that it will not say, "I hope you enjoy your surprise." Because handwritten notes don't have spell check.
And that makes me sweat.
I'm not kidding.
On that note, come on in to my new place y'all. Nothing like being welcomed by a sweaty hostess right?
Happy Sunday.
