Okay, the restaurant I was referring to yesterday is Chili's.
The have delicious items on their Guiltless Grill Menu. My favorite of which is their Guiltless Grilled Cedar Plank Tilapia with steamed broccoli on the side.
And if you happen to be reading this and are a Chili's executive with strings you can pull, I'd love to be for you what Jared was to Subway. Seriously. Except that you have to remove those chips and salsa posters from the take out area of your restaurant.
Instead you need to have a big poster with someone standing on a chair clapping for the efforts your guiltless grill customers are making. We guiltless grill customers heart your sweetness in offering choices that are healthy and that taste quite nice. But those chips posters are the devil. If you don't believe me, click here.
Anyhow, big Chili's executive, if you happen to have some coupons and want to send them my way I will not turn them down. I'll even share and do a grand bloggy land give away. See, it could revolutionize your marketing? Do you have a vision?
Oh yes, please have your people call my people.
My person. My Holly. You can e-mail her: Holly@Proverbs31.org
Who by the way loves your chicken salad with citrus balsamic vinaigrette dressing. Oh yes she does.
Oh google do your thing today and have someone from Chili's stumble upon us. A girl can dream of free coupons right?
So, here's the deal... When I eat healthy things I've learned to truly enjoy, I don't struggle. I stop thinking, "Look how unfair it is that everyone else around me can eat whatever they want and I have to eat this."
Instead, I choose to have a different thought: "Maybe this struggle of mine is an inside out blessing. It is forcing me to make healthier choices which are better for my body and for my health. My weight issues are not a curse. They are an indication my body needs better nutrition. And if I give my body what it needs, the weight will take care of itself."
And in that, I eat my grilled fish with a smile.
A big smile.
Now... let's chat. What are some of your favorite healthy choice items? Restaurant items... at home options... snacks... meals... whatever.
Also, several of you asked about my "tipping moment"- that moment when it all finally clicked and I stuck with my healthy eating. I'm planning to address that next week. But if any of you want to share your "tipping moment," I'd love to hear about it.
Happy Wednesday.
