Well, Holly and I had a fantastic weekend with some beautiful sisters in Arkansas.
ARKANSAS!!!
Do ya'll know about my huge affinity for the Walmart? What a joy to be in the fine state that started that whole thing. Close to 30 people put their faith in Christ this weekend and I just couldn't stop smiling until I got home yesterday.
One of the first things that greeted me when I walked into the homestead was a stack of fliers.
The youngest of my brood has decided to start another business. She is an entrepreneurial sprite if there ever was one. And I love that little fire in her.
But the business of her choice this time deals with watching other people's pets. Pets that these other people love. Pets that they would like to remain alive. And well, we're sort of on a slight bad streak as a family with keeping creatures alive while in our care.
Remember, we are the only family in the history of our little Christian school to be deemed unfit for watching the class guinea pig.
So, what possessed my child to start a pet watching business, I have no idea. Y'all the stress--- the stress--- the stress of this situation is making want to eat my weight in chocolate and salty nachos.
Speaking of salty nachos and chocolate- you may have noticed a lack in "weather" (weight) reports lately. Without going into too much detail, things have been a little stormy. So much so that I have found myself particularly drawn to infomercials lately.
One in particular promises the reason so many of us are a bit fluffy is due to the lack of muscle confusion within our workouts.
So, though I have personally banned myself from buying anything else from infomercials, I am feeling so tempted I can hardly stand it.
Maybe, I can help Brooke with her pet sitting business and earn enough money to purchase this program destined to confuse my muscles.
Has anyone else heard of this new workout trend?
Now if any of you have any extra prayers you're in the mood to pray today, I'd so appreciate some being lifted up for live pets, confused muscles, and some of the most precious new sisters in Christ from Arkansas.
Happy Monday my dear bloggy sisters.

Lysa,
I'm sooo glad that I'm not the only one who wants to bury herself in chocolate and indulge in all thats bad for the hips when I get stressed! Let me know how that new muscle confusion all works out. So excited about the new sisters-in-Christ! God is so good!
Sending up prayers,
:) Becky
you were in arkansas? why didn't you tell me? where? i could have met you.
just checked your schedule, greenwood. probably a little too far for me to go.
No greater joy! Rejoicing with you over the lives of new sister's in Christ. Now that's great news! Thanking the Lord and praying for these dear ones right now!
"The LORD has done great things for us, and we are filled with joy." Psalm 126:3
Rejoicing in how the Lord used you this weekend,
Joy
Praise God for the New Life of those in Arkansas! I can say though that I have never heard of the confused muscle infomercial thingy. I love Brooke's spunk and determined spirit for business. Just the fact that she continues to look for a successful business is amazing for someone as young as she is. Can you just imagine what she might do when she gets to be an adult?
My muscles are already confused. Work out, do nothing, work out, do nothing. Eat better, eat emotional, eat better, eat emotional. Just when they think I am finally paying them some attention, I flop on the couch with some chips and my bag o' M&Ms. :) Needless to say...there will be NO weather reports around here.
So excited for those 30 women! I love to think about them waking up in these first mornings after surrendering to Him. How awesome to be able to start waking up with hope and forgiveness and joy! My heart rejoices for each of them!
Blessings, sweet Lysa!
Oooh, I'd love to bury myself in salty nachos & chocolate everyday! In fact, they should be their own food groups LOL
I have the program that I believe you're referring to (and all the other ones too), and am a motivational coach for the company that makes it. Yeah, I'm better at motivating than I am at actually doing! If you'd like info about the program, feel free to email me. I can direct you to information & success stories....YES people are having success with it! Those are the people, unlike me, who actually do it regularly....I prefer to sit in front of the TV with my chocolate and salty nachos most days LOL
Have a blessed day, Lysa, and I'm praying for you over the new pet-sitting business. :)
What wonderful news! All of heaven is rejoicing today over those 30 sisters! I'm so glad you shared that.
On the "weather front" . . . I haven't been doing so well myself, BUT I have been getting myself to the gym on a more regular basis. I feel so much better when I work out--more energy, etc. And I feel like I'm looking better, so I guess that's good. I may not lose any weight, but the workouts are huge for me.
Hi Lysa,
I just want to thank you again for the prayer you said for me in the airport last Friday. Please checkout my blog to hear just how God used your prayer in a mighty way in my life.
He used that little encounter and simple prayer to a great and mighty miracle.
I prayed for you constantly on the flight to Miami. I will of course continue!
For His Glory,
Pamela
Oh you always make me smile. My muscles are definitely confused. And if I did a little less sitting, with or without pets, and more moving, it might clear that up. Surely laughing while reading blogs burns some calories!
Rejoicing with you over Arkansas!!
Lysa,
What can I say...God Rocked Greenwood Arkansas this past weekend! I am still smiling and spilling tears of joy of how God showed off!
Thank you for being HIS vessel.
You and Holly are a blast. Ms. Pat is still giggling over her Starbucks experience with you.
Love you much and sending Brooke best wishes on her new business adventure.
Lysa,
so happy to hear you have discovered Arkansas! We found that hidden jewel over a decade ago and bought a place. We have converted our place into a Christian retreat facility (http://covenantcamp828.com) to share with all of our friends. The beauty of the Ozark mountains and our gorgeous lake are breathtaking and Arkansas is so cheap to enjoy!!
The muscle confusion videos I think you're referring to are awesome...quite a workout! I've been a certified group fitness instructor for 15 years, and have done these....don't own them....but they are awesome!
Are you talking about the "Beach Body" P90 workout? My hubby does it, and he really likes it...but he is a verrrry in shape military pilot, lol. You could totally do it though!!!
Hugs,
Amanda
Wheweeeeeee! Rejoicing with you for those new sisters in Christ from Arkansas! :) We are smiling with you and Holly!
Oh my...I have put a few pounds on over the winter. I call it my "winter coat", which now needs to be shed because spring is around the corner!
Praying for you as you prepare for the Christian Book Expo this weekend in Dallas! I do believe my sister-in-law and my niece are coming to see you! :) (they live in a nearby suburb) If you have time, you and Holly MUST go to "Sam Moon" -- hundreds of handbags and accessories at amazing prices!
This made me laugh! That Brooke, she's going to make a fortune some day! You'll have so many stories to tell when she does.
I can sooooo relate to your "weather" reports. I'm halfway to my own goal, but I had hoped to be all the way there by March 31st. Doesn't look like it is going to happen.
I can also relate to the infomercial thing. When I nurse my baby, the ads for P90X are always on, and I have been SO TEMPTED!!!
I gained those 10 lbs I lost last yr this time. I was just walking 6 days a week (2-4 miles a day) and portion control (Small brownie instead of big, but still eating brownies). then I took a day off from walking...then another, and what the heck, I'm eating a big brownie. All the lbs came back.
So I'm with you. I firmly believe the only thing that works is portion control with exercise. I wish there was a magic weight loss pill or work out fad - I'd pay for it! But I don't think there is. :-(
Good luck.
Lysa!
You were fantastic this wknd! Thank you for sharing your testimony!

Hi Lysa
I haven't heard of the confused muscle syndrome but everytime I turn on the tv there is that ad for the super body sucker. When you put it on it takes two dress sizes off of you. I don't know quite where all of that extra goes either up or down I guess that is why they have to offer the bottoms that goes down to your knees. Does that make every one who wears one have either fat ankles or a fat neck?? Ponder that Ladies!
Have a happy rainy day, in Iowa it was sunny and 70 today!
Lysa, thank you so much for allowing God to use you this past weekend. You definately spoke to me, and I know you did to many others as well. Also, thank you for the encouraging words about the Youth Detention Center leader saying "yes" to Christ for the first time. That was so uplifting to me, as I know we have been praying for her. Thanks again for your's and Holly's ministry and yall's willingness to serve God wherever He calls you.

Lysa,
I was at the conferance in Greenwood this weekend. It was awesome!! I have lost a child and God truely spoke to me through your words about little Haley and your precious baby. I am so thankful that God gives his healing both here and in Heaven with him! He is so merciful. About the muscle confusion program, I have it and it works! For those who were at the after fellowship friday night my muscles felt pretty confused after running the purse scavenger hunt!!! I look forward to getting your emails and magazine. Thank you for sharing your testimony with us. I love being one of God's Girls.
God bless you

Um, my muscles are confused enough when I manage to make it out the door for my walk. I'll stick with the nachos and chocolate plan, heavy on the nachos, please. But I'll keep on walking...maybe the fog will lift and my muscles will get it together one of these days. :-)
And, my middle daughter has many times tried to talk me into the pet sitting business. I vetoed every time. I'm a meanie?
Hey Lysa...I live in Little Rock and your being in my beautiful Arkansas caught my attention. I was just strolling through Blog Land this morning, trying to meet and greet new friends and found my way to your blog. Thanks for your ministry to women. I will look forward to reading more in the future!!
I know this might not be what you want to hear, but Jillian's 30 Day Shred video is killer... I couldn't walk up my stairs for days without cringing.
It is a great workout... 20 minutes, sunny skies in your forecast!
Even better, the video is only $9 at Walmart!
