Making Progress
Oh my.

I have something to share that might make you want to break up with me.

Seriously.

It makes me want to break up with me.

Sigh. Sigh. Sigh.

If you normally read this blog aloud to your children- stop. Or else they will really want to break up with me. I can handle the rejection of big people somewhat, but I can not handle it from little people.

Sigh again.

Y'all- Cheddar is now playing with Cupcake in the sweet by and by known as Hamster heaven.

I can't even get into all the details except to say that Cheddar was well loved and will be missed.

And before I could even put my foot down that we are ABSOLUTELY not a rodent pet family and we will not have another hamster, Mark came walking in like a hero carrying "Snow White."

She is up in a high place with reinforced protective surroundings.

But the shame of our family's hamster debacles has brought upon us a lowly label. We are the only family at our small Christian School that has been deemed unfit to watch the class guinea pig.

Thus the letter I received from the Principal's office. Let me give you a brief recap:

...it might be best if Moo (the beloved class guinea pig) didn't go home with Brooke this weekend.

...the children would be devastated if something happened to him.

...and accidents can definitely happen.

...I hope you understand what I mean, and I am not being judgmental, just realistic.

Ya'll I didn't know whether to laugh or cry.

So, I made the choice to laugh. This is great progress for me. And isn't that what life is about? Step by step, day by day, choice by choice making progress.

Now, if I can just keep a rodent alive for longer than a month I will really start to feel quite swanky.
