Rockin' Good Time
We are back from the cruise and I've just now stopped swaying enough to focus on my keyboard. We had a rockin' good time.

Emphasis on the word rockin'. As in back and forth, back and forth, back and forth and back and forth some more.

Thank the Lord a sweet angel of a lady gave me some sea bands to wear before I had to speak. Another speaker was not so fortunate. There may or may not have been an incident where a speaker had to run off the stage and you know what.

Yuck. Especially because she could not get the microphone off her head before you know whating.

Mercy.

Anywhoooo......

I would love to show you my tropical tan. Unfortunately the tropical tanning lotion I used made big promises it could not deliver. I still have pasty white skin. Except for my arm pits and one knee cap. They are burnt to a crisp.

But the absolute cure for a girl lacking in a tan on a cruise is to make frequent visits to the most delicious soft serve yogurt machine often. We are talking morning, noon and night people. I am still dreaming about the deliciousness I found there.

Not to mention the famous people who I got to meet near the yogurt machine y'all.

Do you remember DJ from Full House--- Candace Cameron?

Stop it.

Yup, I got to meet her.

Phil Joel?

Stop it!

Yup, met him too.

Big Daddy Weave?

Stop it, stop it, stop it!!!

Yup, he loves him some soft serve yogurt as well.

As does Karen Kingsbury, Angela Thomas, Shane and Shane, Robin Gunn, Shannon Etheridge, Suzie Shellenberger, and my soul sister friend Aiyesha Woods.

And I fully realize I probably misspelled half of their names but maybe their heads are rocking as badly as mine is today and they won't notice. Smiles!

The only thing that was missing to make it a perfect cruise was YOU!!!

Oh, how I wished I'd begged and pleaded and more of you would have been there.

Think of all the fun we could have stalking all the famous people together. Eating yogurt together. And getting burned arm pits and one burned knee cap together!

So, if I ever do the Premiere Christian Cruise again, will you come???

Big hugs sweet friends. It is good to be home.

Welcome back, burnt pits & kneecaps included. Sounds like a mahvelous time.

Someone told me that cruise ships are big and have stabilizers and don't rock much, but apparently not, huh?!

Oh man, I would have loved that cruise! Did you get to talk to Robin Jones Gunn? She is my favorite Christian author. LOVE her Sisterchicks series.

Dear Anonymous~

Yes, I got to meet Robin. She is very sweet. And she was handing out the cutest Sister Chicks tags. I bet if you contacted her, she'd send you one.

Sounds like a blast! One of these days I'll create a bottomless "fun" account to be able to attend things like She Speaks every year, cruises, conferences, GNO... still looking for that money tree that you grow in your own back yard! :o)

Glad to have you back!

I just love Candace. That's so cool that you got to meet her and all those other wonderful people. Don't forget, YOU my dear gal, are someone other women would love to meet as well. Inform us of the next cruise. I'd love to be on it. I'm glad you had a great time.

Oh girl, sounds like so much "rockin'" fun! I don't know if I could have handled all that rockin...you would think it wouldn't be so bad! If I went, maybe it wouldn't have been so bad for me, because I would have been hangin' by the yogurt machine with YOU!!! :)

So glad you're back...definitely missed all the "girl talk"!!!

Welcome home, Lysa! I love Candace! No, I haven't met her, but we e-mail occasionally, and she's soooo sweet! I sent her my books, and she sent my girls autographed pics. They LOVE Full House!

I am so glad that y'all are back home! And what fun you had! I simply LOVE soft serve ice cream!! DO you think that we could find a machine and hook it up somewhere for She Speaks?? Yum! I am registering today, sweet friend! I would LOVE to get one of those She Speaks buttons for my blog!!! Where can I do that? Can't wait to see some pictures from the cruise!

Love ya,
Susan
PS--I love the Sisterchicks books too! I'll have to visit Robin's website! :)

How fun would that trip have been! Glad to hear you had a great time... except for the burnt body parts but you can think of them as a souvenir!

I bet you got to meet my girl Mary Snyder, too! She was the Getaway Girl's Cruise blogger and my roomie in Atlanta recently, for Travis Cottrell's recording. Gotta love that Mary! :o) Anyway...SO glad y'all had so much fun! Would've loved to have been there and might just plan for the next one!

Robin Gunn, Shannon Etheridge, Suzie Shellenberger, - those names got my attention. :) I LOVE the Glenbrook series by Robin Jones Gunn, Shannon's book (she might have more than one now, don't know) is GREAT, Suzie Shellenberger, I remember her from my Brio preteen days! So fun! Glad y'all had a good time! I wandered over from the 100 Christian blog awards or whatever it was called. Kelly

Welcome back! I'm so glad you had a good time, minus the burns, of course. PTL for Seaband, huh?

I'm so glad you got to meet these people, and glad the cruise went well. I'd definitely go next time if I had the chance!

Well, I've cruised before and it was smooth seas, so I don't even you with the rocking.

Unfortunately a cruise is not in the family budget, especially one I would take by myself! But I'll enter all the contests again!

I have to say, I agree with anonymous up there. I would forgo all those "famous" people to spend a few minutes with you, sweet Lysa! The cruise sounds like it was fun.

I just have to tell you the funniest thing--I mentioned "She Speaks" to my hubs over the weekend and he made me a deal . . . if I would query 10 articles before the conference, he said he would send me. Isn't that fun?! So, I'm working on ideas and writing when I have time. I hope I make it!

Take a bottle of GINGER CAPSULES along on your next cruise and you will be happy! It will keep you from getting sea-sick. I sent my son a bottle when he was sailing home from Iraq a few years ago and he said it helped him SO much. The sea was so bad at one time during the MONTH LONG trip home that he could not even sit in the chair at the computer to email home....the ship was rocking so much it would throw the chair...and anyone it in... over. And we're talking about big strong Marines here! ha

Glad that you had a good time except for that.

Okay, hubby is taking me on a cruise for marriage year #10. We live in 2 weeks. I've never been on a cruise. I'm hoping my experience with sky turbulence will make the sea turbulence bearable. Maybe I should get some of those band thingys. Can you get them at the Wal-Mart?

Oh, dear. That poor speaker. I am afraid that would so be me. I can't even turn around and talk to the kids on long car trips cause it makes me all queasy!

I am so glad you had such a great time. Your whole tone sounds like you are all smiley and refreshed and full of soft serve yogurt. :)

I must say, though, I don't think I've ever prayed for kneecaps and armpits before. :) Hope they feel better soon! And I pray Art's shoulder is improving.

Welcome home! You were missed. :)

Blogger Stacy said...

Amen to that! My eyeballs are still rollin' around in my head. Anyway, it was great meeting you again. My friends and I enjoyed the artists, speakers, fellowship AND melting chocolate cake! Thank you for taking time to share your life and heart with so many. May the Lord continue to bless you and your ministry.

Oddly enough, it sounds like you had a blast, burnt armpits, kneecap and all.

I hope you had a nice relaxing time and were encouraged as much as you encouraged others.

Glad your back safe and okey dokey!

Dramamine was my best friend on our honeymoon cruise. I have been on boats many time and never had problems but the cruise ship was a different story!

Growing up in AZ you learn very young that you don't "lay out" with your arms behind your head and one leg crossed over the other! I hope that you heal quickly, it makes it impossible to shave!
Aside from that, I'm glad that you had a fantastic time!
Thanks for making me hungry for some yogurt!

Blogger Miss Sandy said...

Oh my stars you were seeing stars! It sounds like you did indeed have a wonderful time, except for that sunburn thing. Heal quickly!

Glad you had such a wonderful time. Was this the cruise that "Carried Away" sang on as well? (Just pumping a little Canadian entertainment for y'all :o)

Also, I believe Sharon Hanby-Robie was on this cruise as well. I really enjoy her decorating books. I heard that she was recently in a serious car accident. Did you see her?

Anyway...sounds like fun. Sounds like you had a great time!

Glad you're home safely,
Love & prayers,
Joy

Lysa -- what a blast the cruise was! And meeting all those people was too much fun. We met .... by the soft serve yogurt machine, too. Go figure. That seems to be where I met everyone.

But my favorite part was singing Karaoke with Robin Jones Gunn and having Karen Kingsbury as a back-up dancer. Fun stuff!!

And yes -- you HAVE To come again. I'll be there again -- blogging all the way through.

Lysa, I love your blog! And thank you for the laughs you gave me tonight. How in the world did your burn your armpits and ONE knee cap??? Or do I just not want to know??? You're hilarious. I would LOVE to come next year!!! It is my dream!!!
