First, I must warn you to never ever try to wash just the parts of your hair that appear greasy and then try and blow dry a style using the free comb they offer at the front desk of the hotel. It was just about the scariest hair do I've ever had.
But, staying true to my southern roots, I just sprayed that mess with some free hair spray I scored and called it a day.
Secondly, I must say thank you to everyone who prayed, were willing to bring coats, and e-mailed the sweetest offers to help us. You have no idea how much you touched my heart.
I'm happy to report that we didn't stink after all. Thanks to my editor, we got some coats and toothpaste. She then took us to a TJ Maxx where both Holly and I found clothes on the clearance rack.
Of course getting ready in the Target bathroom was a sheer delight. Especially trying to avoid the mystery wet spots of who knows what.
So far, the meetings with Zondervan are going great. Please keep praying- I'm doing staff devotions this morning and then more meetings until we fly home this afternoon.
Speaking of home, we may or may not have a slight tragedy to report.
Cupcake, the hamster is missing--- again.
Ashley reported to me last night that one of our dogs " has been burping and yawning and acting like he might have eaten a hamster."
Oh my.
As much as I didn't really want cupcake, I have actually grown slightly fond of the little creature and find myself hoping she is found without incident. Mercy.
Lastly, on the forecasting front--- wink- wink. Highs this week are 154. Lows are that carrot sticks still don't taste as great as I wish they would.
Any suggestions on snacks that are salty and taste like they are full of fat but aren't?
Happy day y'all.
