My friend, Emily, is doing a very fun Linky today! So, here's my "everyday unwrapped" article.
The other morning I woke to find this in my kitchen. Apparently, we still have children living with us.
Children for which I am forever grateful.
Children that I sometimes get frustrated with because they do things that adults would never do.
Things, which if looked at the right way, are more delightful than the tidiest house and swept clean floors.
Thank you Lord for helping me not just look, but rather really see my children today.
This may be my greatest Christmas present ever.

Philippians 1: 9, "And this is my prayer: that your love may abound more and more in knowledge and depth of insight..."

"Apparently we still have children living in this house." I love that! I feel like that some days too. But won't we be sad when they are gone and not making messes . . . and not staying up until midnight . . . and not leaving their breakfast dishes all over the kitchen . . .? We will be sad, won't we? (Just kidding--I KNOW I'll be sad!)
If my count is right, Shara & Lisa have won but I haven't finished my coffee yet so I can't make any guarantees.
Be sure and check out my blog for the trip winner today. She's gonna be sooooooo excited! I sure am!

Well, if my count is right, Lisa won your marriage seminar (chrislisa1120@yahoo.com) and Anonymous (rweston810@yahoo.com) won your second prize! (I counted from your two different posts - I think I did it correctly, but I hope someone else confirms this for you.)
Your kitchen looks AMAZING - filled with lots of love!!!!
Have a great day,
Love & prayers,
Joy
What's up? That's the way my kitchen looks every day. LOL!! Okay, well maybe less powdered sugar, more dust bunnies. LOL!
Congrats to the winners!
Such a great reminder. Someday I will feel lost when I walk through my just-cleaned house and don't find something else to do.
My a-ha moment came yesterday as my children took impromptu baths and proceeded to dress in a cape (only) and a dress-up horse (only) and chase each other around the house.
Ah, to get to the point where I would view my kitchen floor looking like that as a blessing! I am still a work in progress on that score!
Congratulations to the two winners!!
When my youngest son was about two years old, he got into the powdered sugar bag and spilled it on the floor and was eating it. When we stopped him, his older brother and sister said it wasn't fair that he got to eat powdered sugar and they didn't. My husband and I set the timer for one minute at let them all have at it until the timer went off. That is one of my favorite pictures of my three kids with powdered sugar all over the floor, themselves, and stuffed in their mouths. Five years later we still talk about it!

you should use mr linky and post at chatting at the sky-her post is all about living in the present and not waiting for perfect....
To be in the moment with my children is my prayer. But sometimes I fall short and am so distracted when they approach me.
I have a give-a-way on my blog today!

See...I just proved my point. I got distracted in the middle of posting this comment and accidentally posted it twice!
Oh MY goodness.
This is a precious post. Thanks for stopping by.
Isn't it fun to let kids be kids sometimes? Oh, the joy they bring! I miss Kristyn being that age and doing things like this!

Oh the blessings of children! I just heard this saying, Lord grant me patience to deal with my blessings! :)
I thought it was very applicable to the life of a mom! :)
I feel very blessed!
Lysa,
I remember when my youngest son Caleb was potty training. He was pretty proud of himself and wanted to go on his own(without any assistance from Mom). After a few minutes I decided to check in on him. Boy, I am so glad I did! There Caleb stood in all his glory and CLOTHES AND SHOES in the middle of the toliet bowl. I yelled for my husband and the entire family came running into the bathroom. We all laughed so hard that Caleb began to laugh too! As Caleb's dad and I removed him from the toliet we thanked God that Caleb had played his "flush the toliet" game before he decided to climb in.
Hi Lysa -
Just wanted to thank you for hosting the Christmas Giveaway! I had so much fun, it was such a blessing to be able to give something away to someone I have never met! (It helps that she seems to be a complete sweetheart too!)
Thanks again! This contest proves that the blessing comes from being the person doing the giving.
Blessings!
Bree
Holidays at the TerKeurst house look like so much fun!!
Lysa, I love it! Good for you for not blowing your top when you found flour all over your floor. To be able to see snow angels rather than a mess is a gift indeed. Here's to discovering more moments like this one. Thanks for choosing to celebrate in the midst of the chaos. And thanks for sharing it with us!
Lisa that is so great.. You always make me smile!
