Asking for a favor
Hi Sweet Bloggy Friends...

Can I ask for a favor today? Do you see all the Proverbs 31 Team blogs listed over on the right side of my blog?

Well, I'd love to bless them with lots of encouraging comments today.

Many of you know that our ministry team is getting ready for our annual "She Speaks" conference and we need your prayers.

I know God is going to do amazing things this year because the craziest things have been happening to everyone.

Either Satan is trying to thwart and discourage or God is just calling us to depend on Him in even deeper ways. Or maybe both.

People on our team have experience tornado damage to two different homes, an air conditioner stopped working on the hottest day of the year, a flea infestation at that same house with no air, broken arms, poison ivy, a husband that cut his hand so severely it will require surgery, another husband living with the possibility of losing his job, more poison ivy, the loss of a dear grandmother, a van totalled from a flood and the list goes on.

So, as you can see, my team could use some prayers and words of encouragement. If you have time to visit a couple of their blogs today and leave a prayer or a couple of kind words, that would bless my heart.

I know many of you also have prayer needs as well. I will commit to praying over every prayer request you leave in my comments today.

After all, I'm still fasting from Diet Pepsi, still missing the fizz and still praying every time I want one. So, I'm praying a lot these days and would consider it an honor to pray for you.

Lord, I'd like to lift up Lysa to you today. She is the leader to this group of women leaders who seems to be experiencing an attack from Satan, and she is concerned for them as the conference comes. She is also praying for we 500 attendees. So I lift up this prayer warrior and leader, Lysa. Be with her over the next week as she prepares so that she can let her light shine, so that we may she YOU through her, and that you may be glorified.
In Jesus Name, Amen.

Lysa,

When the enemy cannot defeat, he tries to distract. It's just a war tactic, trying to bring us all down.
But, hey, it's harder to bring down a unified front! Thanks for the reminder!

Blessings to you today!

Lysa,
I will continue to pray for you as well as the P31 team. I too have been reading their various blogs and realize that mighty things are going to happen at She Speaks this year since the enemy is doing what he can to discourage and frustrate before you all even get there next week.

I also pray for you my bloggy friend. May you feel an extra anointing of God's Spirit as you go about your day and also desire to be an encouragement and leader to so many. May He give you grace for each moment.

Blessings,
Pearls

P.S. I guess my main prayer request is that I know the direction and area where God wants to use me within P31. I have a couple ideas that I think Carrie will be telling you next week. I am very passionate about this ministry and want to be used of God according to His plans. Thanks for your prayers Lysa! You are a treasure.

Hey Lysa-- thanks for the comment over at my blog...

To add insult to injury, my blog is refusing to publish-- I have tried both computers and sent an email to the tech team at blogger. And I had written such a witty post about how bad my day was yesterday too! Oh well, I guess God is trying to tell me to be more positive.

Thanks for the post requesting prayers-- our team sure does need it right now!! As Renee said yesterday, now when we get a new email we are almost scared to open it!!

I am off to drive my perenially grumpy teenage son to his FULL TIME summer job. Praise Jesus!!

Blogger Lisa said...

I would consider it an honor and a supreme privilege to pray for every single one of you. We all know the enemy gets his twisted digs in each and every time God-glorifying events are on the horizon (loser), but he's already been squashed, so we know he won't win. Makes me mad anyway. He needs to get lost.

Praise God for all you precious women. May He shelter you all under His loving wings until the loser enemy gives up and hits the bricks.

Blogger Heather@Mommymonk said...

Please know that I AM praying for all of you. I'm sad that I won't be able to be there with you all, but I know God wants to work in lives during She Speaks. I'm praying for all the book proposals (in purple binders!) and all the trembling speakers, for the P31 ladies and the work that needs to be finished, for the nerves and the overwhelming feelings. I'm praying that God's Spirit moves through that conference in a powerful way and that women remember it's all about HIM.

Blogger Michelle said...

Wow, this puts my concerns about what shoes to wear in perspective. :) I have been praying for you, the P31 team and attendees. I will definitely visit the team blogs, post comments, and continue to pray.

I too am facing losing my job. I ask for prayers to stay focused on God and to align my steps with His will for my family's future. May God bless you!

I hate that so many people are experiencing so many attacks......I am praying for all of you!! I know it's a lot of work to prepare and get families ready, and travel......it's a lot I'm sure. But, I know that God is going to do some amazing things through this time! I can't wait!! I'm praying!!

Praying for you guys as you gear up!

Could also use some prayers for this pregnancy ... my sciatica is bad and I'm falling from a weak leg due to the baby being on my sciatica. The pain is bad. I'm just praying that I make it to the end without going into pre-term labor from falling.. thanks!

I will definitely keep you and the rest of the P31 team in my prayers as the conference approaches, Lysa. Satan is a crafty devil, isn't he? But he is no match for our sweet Lord!

Satan has really been working on me as far as my confidence level is concerned (you can't write! what are you doing going up there! you have nothing to say!) Please pray that I would keep my eyes on God and His purpose for my life. Also, please pray that the Lord would lift my writers block so I can finish the few devotionals that I want to bring up for one of the critique groups! :-) Thanks ladies!

I will keep praying for all of you, too!

Blessings,

I will of course pray for you and the entire P31 team. I have enjoyed reading through the blogs of the P31 team as well as the attendees. I know how uplifting a comment can be, so I will be commenting away today!

I hated to read about the tough situations many are going through. I think you might be right that Satan is on full alert in regards to this conference. I was telling a friend just yesterday that I think the enemy is definitely at work. Although I am incredibly excited about the conference and am expecting great things from God, all of a sudden my confidence has been shaken and I am feeling totally under prepared and under connected. Get Behind Us All Satan...we are a praying force!

Thank you to the entire P31 team for this wonderful ministry.

Dear Lysa,
I want to thank you for all of the sacrifices you and your team are making so that we can be blessed by the She Speaks Conference! You are warriers and I know you won't give up this fight! Just knowing that you are praying for us in the midst of your hardships really blesses me.

Numbers 6:24-26(GNB) May the LORD bless you and take care of you;
May the LORD be kind and gracious to you; May the LORD look on you with favor and give you peace.

Lest we forget you, Lysa...

Father, thank You for Lysa and for her genuine sweet heart. Thank You that she loves us and pours herself out to You and for us. I pray You will keep her from the storms and in the storms. I thank You in advance for all the mighty wonders I just know You will do at She Speaks, in and through Lysa, and the P31 staff, and the women who attend.

In the precious name of Your Son, Jesus...

(Heather--I know just what you mean about pain and the leg giving out. I had that with probably every one of my five kids. My brother's a chiropractor and he saved me every time!)

This post has me sitting here in tears. How selfish I have been to be so consumed with my needs, my fears, my insecurities! Your example of selflessness AGAIN speaks to my heart. Your heart is so beautiful. I ask you to forgive me.

I leave no request of my own today, but pray for God's hedge of protection for each of you and that you will find refuge and hope in the shadow of His wings. Praying and claiming Psalm 91 for each of you by name.

Love & hugs,
Joy

Lysa-as I shared with your assistant Holly-satan is trying to get in the way...for you guys and for us. But God has been so faithful. My husband and I were hit with a "burden" just this week that could of interferred with my attendance at the last minute. Within an hour of committing it to God, He took care of the situation and resolved the "burden". He is good and He will overcome whatever satan throws our way. We just have to walk in faith and pray! pray! pray! and that I am doing for each of you!!!

Blessings!

"Each one had a harp and they were holding golden bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of the saints." Rev. 5:8

We are all lifting up bowl-fulls of prayers for all of you, your families and all of the attendees and their families! Also for the hotel staff, airline stewards, etc. It's exciting to see what HE will do!

Sharon :)

Well, it sounds as if y'all are on the right track and satan does not want you there!!!

Oh Lord, let YOUR will be done in the lives of the P31 team, in their homes and with their families. I also ask that attendees feel Your love and protection round about them and Your security as they prepare their families for this time.
Thank you for this ministry and continue to spread Your word abroad in their hearts and lives!

My request is long; my parents travel back to Tennessee tomorrow but today I really need to biblically confront my Dad about his anger. There have been some really hurtful words used against me during this time and I am so tired!!! I find the lies of my childhood calling back to me and it would be so easy to go 'back'. However, the reality is that I have a wonderful husband and family that love me very much and I am no longer subject to those lies because they have been cleansed by the blood of Jesus!

The saddest part is that my Daddy is a Christian - or at least claims to be. His anger has ruled in the home for as long as I can remember. He would never drink, smoke, do drugs or cuss, that would be worldly....but we never knew when we would overstep his threshold and find his anger knocking down the emotional walls of our home and lives.
I really do love my Daddy but I am having a hard time coming up with the grace to move past this issue. I know that I have to, so please pray with me as I draw on the true grace of our Lord! Also, lift up my Momma, I don't think she even realizes how much better her life could be if he would only surrender to Christ!

Lysa,

I will be paying for you and your team! God is doing and will do some amazing things!!! That is why you are under attack!! Satan is NOT happy with this mission that God has called you to do. You will be victorious!!! In Jesus Name!!!

If you could also pray for me that would be great. I am going through a lot of struggles right now... I have a lot of wounds that are not healed from my childhood and I am starting work through some of it and have gotten sucked under Satans attacks... in not so good ways. Please pray that I would be victorious and ask for help or ask for prayer when I need it and to be able to talk with people I trust... Thanks!

I will continue to lift you up in prayer!!! Thanks for blogging this!

Lysa,

Wow....the enemy is giving it everything he has isn't he?? However, God is stronger!! My Pastor once said that Satan always overplays his hand. When things are soooo out of control, you always know it is him. I think this just means that this years conference will be amazing!! I am praying a hedge of protection over you, your staff and everyone attending. I will continue to pray through the conference. This is my prayer request. I am single and God has brought a wonderful man into my life!! His name is Mike. Please pray for God's perfect will for us as a couple. Also, his 19 year old daughter passed away from cancer in December. This will be his first Father's Day without her. Please pray for God's incredible comfort.

Blessings & Love,

I agree with Joy and will pray Psalm 91 over you as well. Satan attacks when God is on the scene. Do not give up; do not fear; do not give in.

Lysa, you have such a big heart! I have lifted you up and your P31 sisters.
My prayer request is that we just have a great week coming up. We have family coming in this weekend and I am of course running around trying to get the house just so. My daughter gets Baptised on Sunday and it is such a blessing..but I also need prayers that we just have a wonderful time together and that my children behave! It might seem minor..but its important to me!

Lysa,

Oh goodness the Spirit is on the move. I just emailed Melissa some words of encouragement that were on my heart for her. Have never met her, don't even know her last name and had no reason to email her. God is doing a mighty work and the enemy is laying down the potholes on our road to Him.

My husband and I just went thru this ourselves last weekend. We coordinated our church's marriage conference. It is important to push through these times as the gift on the other side of our obedience is more glorious than we can imagine.

Praying for all of you.
Joanne

You can continue to pray that I will be prepared for my divine appointments next weekend. And that my fear of flying cross country does not delay the flight I will be taking ;O)

Hi Lysa,

I will be praying for your whole team and for you. I know this event must be under spiritual attack because it is so fruitful.

My prayer request is about writing. Three years ago, I started writing a book that I've finally just finished. Now I'm trying to do the rewriting and editing and it is so hard. I'm afraid I'm going to ruin it, and I'm afraid the editor who wanted to see the final manuscript won't be interested anymore now that I've taken so long to finish it. I guess I underestimated how hard the rewriting and editing phase would be. : )

I just long for this book to be off my hard drive and useful. I keep allowing fear and procrastination to keep me from crossing the finish line.

So much of my heart is in this project.

I'm sorry this comment is so long. : ) I guess my prayer request is just that I'd finish the book, that God would use it, and that I'd be able to let go and trust Him for the timing and all that he has planned for it. I want to remember that it has always been His project from the beginning, not mine.

Thank you for praying for all of us. It's a gift! I can't be at She Speaks this year, but I'll be praying for all of you who are there.

Love,
Becky

Lysa - There is no doubt in my mind, heart, or spirit that God is planning incredible things for She Speaks! I'm praying for your entire team.

You asked for prayer requests at just the right moment for me (I love how God does that!). Could you p;lease lift our family up in prayer - my husband deploys to Iraq soon, mostly likely within the next week. Also, cover my brother in prayer. Satan is ruling his life and he is very close to loosing his marriage, children, and career over some choices he's made.

Bless you!

Lysa,
Thank you for the reminder to pray for others in this battle we all fight, not against the visible, but the invisible...
I will be praying for all of you.

If you could pray for me to be able to learn how to grieve... I am struggling to come to terms with a friend finding out she has cancer. I have never gone through the loss of someone close to me, or even being seriously ill, so in my state of depression, etc, it is really hard to deal with and come to terms with.
Thank you and God bless,
Heather

I just wrote about this yesterday on my blog, but I didn't realize how attacked your team has been! I am struggling -- having doubts -- and getting nervous! I know God's going to do wonderful things at the conference and I'm continually praying for you and your team -- although, I can't give up my Cokes. Not yet, anyway. Hmmm...Maybe I'd get some clear answers if I did!

Blogger Robin said...

Consider it done!
I am so thankful to you and your team and all you are doing to make this conference as incredible as it is going to be. And the fact that Satan is resisting it - well that's just confirmation that you are doing exactly what God wants you to be doing.
I am expereincing nerves and serious self doubts this week. But I will not listen to those nagging whispers - I am coming even though I am scared to death to fly, even though I am coming entirely by myself, and even though my book proposal is about to get the best of me. I believe God has something for me in North Carolina next weekend - and I wouldn't miss it for the world.
Thank you for being His willing servant.

Lysa, both our senior pastor and associate pastor resigned this week. This leaves my husband, who is the youth pastor, with a very full plate. It is an uncomfortable place to be, yet we know God is at work in our lives and in the life of our church. Thank you for praying for us even though you don't know us! I am praying for your team and for She Speaks today. I wish I could be there!

Lysa and all the P31 Staff and attendees,
Please know we are surrounding you in prayer using the words of Romans 8:26-39. Oh, what a wonderful promise that God is working ALL things for His good and glory; that the Spirit IS interceding for you all; that we are all MORE than conquerors through Christ Jesus; and finally, that NOTHING can separate any of us from Him or His love.
Looking so forward to next weekend!

Lysa, thank you so much for tenderly and creatively looking out for your girls! You remind me so much of Jesus.

Thanks for always being an encouragement to us personally and showing us how to take the lemons in life and look for the sweetness of Jesus to make lemonade we can serve to others.

Thanks for leading today in prayer. I am praying for our each friend that left you notes and those that have posted prayers and needs on my blog. Wendy P. reminds us in the office that praise confuses the enemy, so I am praising Jesus for what He is doing to protect us from battles we cannot see. I can't wait to see what He has prepared for those who love Him as we gather in His name next week.

Have fun at the beach!

Praying for you! I haven't written you much, but I read your posts a lot. I absolutely love your posts though, and can't help but laugh out loud at them. I love your teachings too, good eye-openers.

I'd love to be there at the conference, but I have felt a "no" from God. I'm pretty sure the reason is that I need to focus on deepening my relationship with Him, and not focus on writing or speaking for "approval". I need to make sure that my motive is pure while studying His word, and while spending time with Him.

I bless you guys and will pray for you as you come to mind. I have benefited so much from P31. May there be a lot of the work of the Holy Spririt there!

Lysa,
I will be praying for all of you ladies attending the 'She Speaks' Conference. What a comfort to know that you are doing the right thing by influencing our world for Christ.

Satan doesn't want you to attend and encourage the dear ladies coming. Your story must be needed by someone else otherwise, Satan wouldn't be setting up such roadblocks.

Remember, God has not given you a spirit of fear, but of POWER, LOVE and a SOUND MIND...I sometimes wonder about the sound mind part for myself :)

It is not God's timing yet, but someday I would love to attend the conference. All of you bloggy sisters are such an encouragement to me. This community of godly women has been such a blessing in my life. Thank you Lysa for ALL you do to make it possible.

Please pray for my daughter who is visiting her father in NY this week. She is such a precious, growing, almost teenager who is finding who she is in Christ. She loves the Lord and isn't afraid to take a stand against issues such as immodesty among her friends.

Her father is not a Christian and influences her greatly with his 'free spirited' lifestyle. Pray for her to stay in communion with Christ and to be able to withstand Satan's firey darts in her life. Thanks so much!

Lysa,

Fasting & Praying for the team and you! I'm looking forward to seeing what God's got in store for all of us this coming weekend. Must really awesome if satan seems to be so 'hell-bent' on trying to attack us all. The best thing is we are aware of it and have the authority, in the name of Jesus, to tell him to take his nasty litle hands off of us- all of us! Because like it or not God's got work for us yet and we're not missing that chance!

Lord,
We declare our total dependence on you. We choose to abide in you Lord in order to bear much fruit and glorify You alone. We publically announce to satan that Jesus is our Lord! We reject any and all attempts from satan to keep us mentally, spiritually or physically from what the Lord wants to do with us, through us, and in us at She Speaks. Thank you for your promises Lord! Amen.

In the name and authority of the Lord Jesus Christ, I command satan to release all of us women. We belong to the Lord God and you can't touch us!

Praying and looking forward to a dynamic weekend filled with Godly wisdom and chiros moments!

Grace & Peace,
Heather Twitchell
