Dear Hannah Montana,
When you wrap up your current tour and get back to reading my blog, I'd love for you to consider my resume. I went to your movie yesterday and loved it. Loved every minute of it. Sang every word to every song right beside my three little girls. Who are not so little anymore but that is a subject for another day. We wore the glasses, own the hair, and bought the t-shirt.
Not only do I know the words to your songs but I know the beat to your music. And I can throw some pretty cool moves.
You see what got me thinking about all this was the number of moms in your audience. Women who are just like me. We pretend that we are just being sweet moms and letting our kids play your music on their way to school. But then, when we drop them off... we don't change it. No ma'am we blast it even louder! While singing every word and loving it- like totally.
To borrow some of my favs--- I'm gonna put on my old blue jeans... cause every body has those days... nobody's perfect but I'm gonna work it again and again till I get it right.
So for all those moms in your audience who struggle just like me with cellulite and feeling like we are getting to old to bust a move, you just have to put a mom up on that stage. Just for one song. I mean I would be so out of breath by the end, you'd have to have oxygen waiting back stage. That's what happens when you are knocking on the door of 40.
But don't let that scare you. I may look like just another car pooling, mac and cheese making, Bible study teaching mom. But underneath it all... I REALLY AM A ROCKSTAR!!!
You can have your people call my people.

I'm sorry Lysa, but your people say NO, you cannot tour with Hannah...so I will not be taking any calls, not even one from her people.
HA! i will come out of blog lurkdome to admit i just posted my sadness that i could not go see the movie with my daughter....
Rock on momma!
Woohoo!! Maybe I could be your body double while you change outfits...
I am a mother of two who also saw the epic Hannah Montana movie this past weekend. During the show I whispered to my husband, who was one of the few men in the audience brave enough to subject himself to extreme levels of estrogen, that I had missed my calling. I could have been a rock star. For now, until God crafts that in my journey, blasting Miley's music on the stereo while I fold laundry will have to suffice. Lysa, I look forward to hearing you speak at McLean Bible Church's women's conference at the end of the month.
Oh, how you make me laugh!
Would you please tour? I know Holly said no, but we need you, Lysa. We need you to make being a mommy cool again. I'm sure you wouldn't embarrass us. I'm sure you wouldn't trip and fall or anything while bustin' out your awesome knockin' on forty moves! Bring us back to coolness, Lysa. You're our only hope. :)
lol! I am so glad to hear I am not alone! I do think I am an undercover rock star too! We rock not only with Hannah but with High School Musical too. We have a karoke Wii game with a microphone that we rock on out to and bust a move. My girls are 4 and 6 though so I am way cool to them still! :)I was planning on taking my girls today after Bible study as a surprise. Now I am super excited.
Much love,
Angela
Hey.....if you do tour, can I be a groupie? A grouper? A guppy? Hmmmm....maybe not. I don't want to bring down your cool factor. :)
Hey Lysa...
My daughter and I went to the movie last weekend with one of her friends and her mom. I think the moms out-sang the girls!! At one point, my 6 year old punched me and told me to stop singing...Ouch! I told her it was my job to embarass her!! Keep Rockin'...
I am so glad I am not the only mom who likes Hanna Montana. I think she ROCKS! When I grow up I want to be just like her! Oh, wait I am grown up, at least I can sing and dance like her on my "stage" at home. She needs to let you tour with her. Help us moms get our cool back!
Good luck with that one! :)
OH! I would so be at the concert if you get the call! Praying big rock star things for your future! And tell Holly she can go on tour too if she will take the call!!
You are so funny Lysa! :)
I was threatening my kids with auditioning for High School Musical 4:the faculty rocks just the other day! I'm all for it! GO LYSA!
You absolutely crack me up!
From someone who has knocked, opened, gone through, and shut the door on 40....you go girl!!
I will be in the front row!
And just tell that Holly girl that there are others of us who will be your people if she ignores The Call! :-)
Lysa-I think you've just locked in the entertainment portion of She Speaks this year. I do have an extra HM wig if you need it.
My 5&6 year-olds got a kareoke machine for Christmas and, of course, a Hannah Montana CD with it. I have to admit, I like singing with them too...full-out with "sky-punches" on the really rockin parts!
What a fun time. Thanks for sharing.
Hmmmm...ok, perhaps I could take the call from her people and see what they'd have to say...They'd probably throw me a bone and tell me that I can come too, and hang in her shadow on stage or something. But singin' and dancin' are not my strengths at all...I guess I could sell her books, and crowd control the HUGE rockin' autograph line!!!!
We will be looking for your "Rockin' Debut" at She Speaks!!!
Don't we all just want "The Best of Both Worlds"?
My DP and I were just talking the other day about the opportunities out there for making a difference with Hannah Montana . . . you on stage with her . . . that broadens the scope of influence even more!
I am so with you, girlfriend!
My girls and I are Hannah Montana fans too! Even my husband and son (6) like Hannah Montana! I got HM's latest CD for my 10 yr old at Christmas and she takes it with her everywhere.
I love that she is a someone who I can be okay with my kids watching on TV and listening too as well.
Lysa, it would be just awesome, like totally cool, to see you rocking with Miley on stage.
What a hoot!:)

I LOVE IT!!!
Hey Lysa
I too am a Hannah fan After I drop the kids off I come home and clean house to her CD's Good thing candid camera is no longer on the air!! Holly could go on tour with you she could be your Lily and change her hair color for every show. Hopefully the Hannah Movie will come out on DVD soon, we live in Iowa and the closest theatre showing the movie is over an hour away
Have a great day
Rock On
Holly caved in...yeah!! Somehow I struggle with the vision of you MC Hammering your way through Best of both Worlds...lol!
I was so bummed, it didn't even come to my city! :(
Mary Beth had a great idea...you must perform for us at She Speaks. Could be the opening with the theme that we all have something insided of us that wants to come out...writers, speakers, in your case Rockstar.
I vote yes with Mary Beth!
:)
I would so totally be a Lysa Groupie!! You rock girl friend, we love Hannah at our house and we would so totally be there to see you on stage with our Hannah-Girl!
You rock! Like totally!
My daughter and I had a Girls Night Out on Hannah's opening night. (I'm nothing if not A Cool Mom.) The evening would have been perfect had we not had a spider incident in the car afterwards. Yikes!
My daughter has a t-shirt that says "I'm A Rockstar" with a sequin guitar on it in hot pink no less; and if I could squeeze into that size 4 I would wear it. I looked for one in my size but alas, I couldn't find one. Maybe you should sell them at She Speaks. Afterall, we are all "stars" because of our "Rock"
We also went to the movie where I joined my children in singing the words to every song. I must confess, I have her CD's as well as both HSM's on my iPod.
Lysa,
I was thinking along the same lines as Marybeth...we could so be rockstars at She Speaks..we do need a new grand entrance you know. How cool to drop from the ceiling and rock out for a little G.N.O.
We went to the movie yesterday also and had a blast! I posted pictures from the event on my blog. Hayley Grace had such a blast and since the concert was just not possible for us, this was definitely the next best thing. That Hannah is precious!
And what do you mean out of breath because you are knocking on the door of 40??? I walked through that door last year and I could do that rock star thing no problem!:)
Love Ya Girlie! Rock on,
Melissa
OK....I also enjoy Hannah Montana as much as my 6 year old daughter... Glad to hear that the concert show is fab because a group of 10 crazy mom's and kids are pulling our little ones out of school early to go see the show!
I took my daughters to a Hannah Montana show a few weeks ago and it was amaaaazing. The only problem is we paid way too much for the tickets from Ticketmaster. I just heard from a friend the best site for Hannah tickets is tickex.com. You can browse tickets from a bunch of different sellers to make sure your getting the best deal, important considering how much these tickets are going for.
So, if you debut at She Speaks -- first thing -- you must wear the hair.
ok i want to see a photo of you with the hair and a video clip of you singing!!!
I am in a different stage of life, while you and your kids are rocking to Hannah Montana. Me and my toddler are rocking to Go Fish, have you heard of them?
My daughter is only four, so we haven't quite gotten into the whole Hannah Montana fever. Your post, however, makes me want to introduce her to it, so that we can learn some cool moves and songs!
For all you 30+'s wanting to be Hannah Montanna there are some of us 50 plus women who would gladly take over for Lysa while she is touring.
Oh wait! I seem to remember a tear streaked, pajama clad, Lysa telling us we have no idea what it means to walk in her shoes and to be happy with who we are.
My guess is Mylie Cyrus could tell some horror stories of her own.
But just in case this message doesnt change your mind, I'm going to go start practicing saying "all y'all"
Oh I'm sure Hannah or her people will be calling you soon! :)
Just let us know when your concert is! :)
Too funny! My fav is "Make Some Noise." Maybe there should be a sing along at She Speaks. "So come on and raise your voice, speak your mind and make some noise..." seems fitting.
I am with Melissa and Marybeth. I could not take Katie this past weekend, I had to be in Phoenix, AZ, We are planning to go tomorrow, I will make sure I take notes. I agree with Ginger, I love to embarrass my daughter.
I still do not have the wig, I need to work on that one.
Charlene
I've got your stage name - Lysa Vontisa. I'm holding up my cell phone and swaying back and forth. Go girl!
Dudette, I totally love HM.
Why do you think I run a ministry for girls? It isn't so I can, you know, minister...
...it is so I can get my HM fix each and every single day of the week.
Gosh, I love my job.
Hilarious. However, I can tell by all these comments I need to go borrow a little girl and find out - who is Hannah Montana!!! (Cut me some slack - I'm the Mom of an almost 16 yr old son!)
Holly - you make me laugh. But, don't underestimate yourself - I'd ask for your autograph too.
Well...going to check out this Hannah Montana craze online - feel like I've led a sheltered life.
Joy
I'm so out of the loop with this girl. I have two BOYS 3 and 6 and they haven't set their sights on Hannah yet ;-)
You totally can not steal my Hannah Montana thunder...I have loved her from the second the show started airing..:))
And call me corny, but I pray for that kid to keep her clothes on and her faith intact. She's really all we have left in the way of a star we don't mind our girls wearing on a t-shirt.
You do rock, Lysa..:) Can I at least be your back up dancer??
I'm SO your girl.
I have some mad moon-walkin' skillz.
:)
Lisa
Don't make me put on my Hannah Hair!
Okay girls, here is a link to paste into your browser so you can see a sneak peak of what might happen at She Speaks. Be sure to scroll down to see the photo and a video of Hannah singing our P31 theme song - "Nobody's Perfect"- not even the P31 woman. Aren't we all so glad about that!

Smiles,
Renee
I have to read this to my girls!! I think they would be so embarrassed if I thought I could do such a thing! Too funny! I hope she stays out of the Hollywoodstories like some of the other child stars....my girls just love her too.
In His Graces~Pamela
Girl, let me just tell you that if she call you - you'd best let me be your back-up singer!! hahaha
LOVE this post in "the best of both worlds!" hahahahaha
BTW - no one says 'bust a move' anymore according to my 10 year old! hahahaha Sorry!
Val
Hilarious! I can just see it! However, I am with Alana, this Boy Mama's little ones do hot have Hannah on their radar! ;)
Hey Lysa! I am soooo with you on going on tour with Hannah! Your idea of having a cool mom on stage is brilliant! I would so go on stage with you(extra weight and all!)We love Hannah at our house(even my boys!)and we are HUGE fans of High School Musical! We all dance to the songs, my kids are still young enough to think Mommy is one awesome dancer! I think Disney needs to be enlightened and include some awesome, cool, Mommy dancers in their programming! Okay, now what number do we call to get this ball rolling!?........
ROFL! That was hilarious! Ok now we want to see you dress up and bust your move on YouTube! Come on now, you started this!.....We're waiting.....
I totally agree with you...Hannah Montanna Rocks! I'm a proud mom of a Hannah fan.
I knew you were living a double life! Just kidding. Love to see you in the wig. At She Speaks you should wear it and do your own Hannah Montanna thing. I DARE you.... come out singing and bust a move!
