Oh My Stars!
I wish I could have a marching band coming in right about now.

Oh I can think of some great 80's tunes for them to play.

I could even do a little MC Hammer Dancing for you- you would be impressed. Especially if I threw my hair up in a side pony tail and sported my parachute pants--with matching jelly shoes and jelly bracelets of course! Like Totally~

Okay you gals are some mighty fine writers! I have been tickled, encouraged, challenged, and very blessed by visiting so many of your blogs this weekend. I had no idea so many of my bloggy friends would enter this little contest--- so picking just one proved impossible. After many discussions and e-mails flying back and forth between my team members, we finally decided to pick three winners and four honorable mentions.

And the Winners are:

Jesus at McDonalds by
Carol Hatcher

The Determined Life by Amy Brooke

A Cup of Encouragement by Miss Sandy

The 3 winners will appear in our P31 Magazine. Glynnis will be contacting you to get your article scheduled. Please leave a comment over at Glynnis' blog with your e-mail address.

And the Honorable Mentions Are:

The Masterpiece by Sumi

No More Tears for Fears - Marriage as a Three-cord Strand by Linda

Graceful by DeeDee

Laying Down by Jess

The honorable mentions will be published in some facet of Proverbs 31 Ministries. Again, please leave a comment on Glynnis' blog with your personal e-mail address so she can connect with you.

And you may want to check out Glynnis Whitwer's blog today. After reading some many of your wonderful blog entries, she has some helpful hints and tips for turning your blog post into articles that are ready to be published. I think you'll find her information very helpful~

And again--- a Big thank you to Lisa B for all her help this weekend getting things linked and organized. So, she is the winner of the "For the Write Reason" book by Marybeth Whalen.

Now for the NEXT BIG ANNOUNCEMENT!!!

Here was my clue to you: "The Biggest Rock went boom when it hit me as I spoke loudly to my girls."

The biggest- Melanie from Big Mama

Rock- Shannon from Rocks in my Dryer

went boom- and Sophie from Boo Mama

hit me- surprised me that they are coming to and teaching at

as I spoke loudly- the Proverbs 31 She Speaks conference

to my girls- to help teach us all about blogging!!!

Did you catch that? Wow!!! Not only will we have great sessions this year at She Speaks on speaking, writing, and leadership BUT we will also have a couple of classes on blogging too! These three ladies are 3 of the top Christian bloggers. Just imagine how fun it will be to hang out with these 3 top bloggers and learn from them. Not to mention how fun it will be to meet each other face to face.

So, will you pray about coming to our conference? Many of you have been to She Speaks in years past. Why don't you post a little about your experience.

If you've never heard about She Speaks, click here to read more about it. It will be held just outside of Charlotte, North Carolina the weekend of June 20th- the 22nd 2008.

It is a great time for personal revival and training. Plus some of the top Christian Publishers will be there to meet with potential writers. Each year, we rejoice with women who get book contracts as a result of their appointments with publishers at She Speaks!

Registrations will open up this Friday. And you will need to register early as we sell out every year. Last year we had 405 women from 37 different states that attended. So, think about it--- pray about it---- talk to your family and friends---- and get ready to register starting this Friday.

For the most up to date information on the She Speaks conference, pricing, location, and contact information to reach our staff at Proverbs 31 Ministries click here.

Oh I do hope to see many of you this summer!

Happy Monday~

First of all a heartfelt congratulations to all of the winners of the writing contest!! Awesome entries and well deserved to be published so I rejoice with you all.
To all of my sisters in Christ who entered the contest and didn't get chosen, including myself, let's be happy for our fellow writing sisters...drop by their blogs and offer them some encouragement!
Lysa & team--this was awesome as it was my 1st time "out of my comfort zone". I couldn't feel more encouraged to keep writing so thank you so much.
Count me in for She Speaks! Hubby & I have been praying & can't wait until God reveals how He's going to get me there as financially it looks impossible.
Love ya!

Congratulations to all the winners (glad you picked more than one!) What fun that was.

I was wondering if the "rock" had anything to do with Shannon. I wasn't planning on going to She Speaks this year (I went last year), but I have to say that seeing those girls and hearing from them is totally tempting!

Congrats, congrats, congrats to the winners! There is some amazing talent out there and I was honored to share in reading of so many wonderful entries! I agree with Lelia that we should be encouraging to those who were chosen--what a great opportunity they have to be published! And let's not forget to encourage and build up our sisters who entered the contest and were not chosen. Keep writing, keep writing, keep writing! And if you haven't done it, get a copy of Marybeth's book...it has inspired me to hear other christian writers' stories of struggle, rejection and success. And believe you me, I'm going to keep on keepin' on! (Insert MC Hammer dance!) :) Happy Monday everyone!

Blessings and Prayers!

Thanks for hosting this contest, Lysa. God used it BIG TIME to impart another lesson about following Him deep into my heart. I'll continue to pray that all that read the winning articles will truly hear the Good News personally!

Congratulations to Carol, Amy and Miss Sandy! Fantastic articles! So are the honorable mentions--congratulations to you too, Sumi, Linda, DeeDee and Jess! Great work.

Lysa and team, I want to thank you for this opportunity. All of you gave up time on the weekend to read so many articles from so many gifted writers. I'm sure the process was difficult which lead to you picking the three winners and four honorable mentions.

Thanks for all the valuable information about writing you and Glynnis are sharing about writing.

I'll certainly be checking into the conference. I've already got hubs approval. I hope to meet you there.

Thanks again!

Blessings in Christ--

Congratulations to all the winners! I knew they were going to have to pick more than 1!!!

Thank you Lysa for hosting this and Glynnis for writing up some tips for us to make blog posts more article ready! I can't wait to soak up all that info!

And oh my! The She Speaks conference is going to be rocking this year. I must start hinting to my hubby that I want to go :)

I'm thankful my anal tendencies to make lists pretty helped everyone :)

Can't wait to go read the winning posts! Congrats to everyone for having the bravery to even enter!!!
Thanks, Lysa, for helping women to open up and let what the Lord has put in them out!!

OOOOHHHHH MY! I think I will cry!!!! I NEVER win anything. A cakewalk in elemntary school, but that was soooo long ago!

Thank you. I am humbled becaue there were so many excellent entries. I can hardly believe it. And to think I almost didn't do it because of the time crunch.... So glad I stayed up late that night.

I love you LYSA and team!

I went to She Speaks 2 years ago. It was wonderful. It impacted me deeply. I learned a lot about writing but I think the bigger thing was feeling so cared for and loved. I was really struggling when I went. I had a meeting with MaryBeth to discuss writng and CRIED through the whole thing. Poor, MaryBeth!

I was struggling with depression. (Not a new thing.) But going to the conference marked a huge turning point for me. After the conference, I had about an 18 MONTH break in the depression. I think it is the longest I have had.

God has his hand on P31!

I just wanted to encourage anyone who can, to attend the She Speaks Conference. My church blessed me last year with the opportunity to go, and it was a life-changing experience.

I went with great hopes that doors would open for my writing. I wasn't expecting the way that Jesus met with me personally while I was there, or the spiritual growth that happened that weekend, or the awesome little miracles God did for me all week-end long to encourage me and confirm the calling He had given me.

When I walked into the conference room for the opening ceremony and saw the hundreds of other women with similar dreams, I was overwhelmed and discouraged. I wondered if I had heard God's voice or not. Throughout the weekend, He showed me how big He is, and reminded me that He knew each of us by name and had plans and purpose for each one of us. There was plenty of work to be done for all of us.

I did have an opportunity to connect with an editor, and I was so thankful for that connection, but it was secondary to the other things that God did for and in me that weekend.

Sorry this is such a long comment. I just cherish that experience and hope that many others will experience it, too. I also hope that some year, I'll get to come back again.

Congratulations to those of you who won, there were some wonderful entries.
Thank you Lysa for making me get out of comfort zone. I chickened out, talked to my husband and then entered, and debated ALL weekend about did I do the right thing.(SMILE) I have been given this desire for ONLY ONE book to be written, and your entries about writing these last few weeks have been confirmation about what I need to do and HOW it needs to be done. Thank you again for allowing us to "take a chance to step out of the boat".

Lysa,
Thank you so much! I'm tickled pink to be an Honorable Mention!!! I love that I have found you all. What a wonderful community of women writers! You all are an inspiration to me.

Thanks for the fun opportunity too, I really appreciated it!

Congratulations to everyone!! How exciting!

Although I have never attended the conference, I am sure going to try (and to drag my sister along)... we are faithful readers of Big, Boo, and Rocks!

Also wanted to give thanks that my blog entry was not chosen. At this time in my life, it would have only served to glorify myself and not to fully give it all to God.

So congrats to ALL!!!

Blogger Amy said...

Congratulations, ladies! And thanks again Lisa B for compiling the list of entries. I am still enjoying reading them and exploring all the different blogs. This was fun.
Have a great week and God Bless!
Love in Him,

p.s. BROWN-EYED GIRL: I JUST SAW YOUR COMMENT...AND I CAN TOTALLY AGREE. THE DISAPPOINTMENT I FELT THIS MORNING ONLY CONFIRMED FOR ME THAT MY MOTIVATION NEEDS SOME EXAMINATION! THANKS FOR BEING SO HONEST--I AM RIGHT THERE WITH YOU! :)

God has put it on my heart to be a speaker, so learning is in my future!

Congratulations to each and every precious woman who dared to enter this contest. We are all winners in God's eyes and isn't that itself worth dancing for.

I would love to encourage everyone to attend She Speaks. I personally think the conference could also be called "God Speaks." I cannot say enough about how God-focused last year's conference was. From the moment I checked in and Luanne informed me about the prayer room, I felt God's reassuring presence there. And who knew he would plant this whole desire to write in my heart while praying in that small, but powerful place. (I was only attending the speaking tracks afterall.)

I could go on and on. I encourage all of you to pray, seek, and find out more information about this conference. The entire weekend is more than you could ever ask or imagine.

I'm at home sick today and have been trying to leave a comment all day but keep getting distracted by going to read about Jesus @ McDonald's, ETC, ETC, ETC. I just discovered your blog, your Life---His Life, this weekend through Lisa W's and I'm so deeply encouraged by the God in you. I have not heard of your ministry before and don't know what my beautiful God is saying to me about writing just yet. But, I am intrigued with the idea of your June conference and will certainly pray if God is in this for me. I'd love to learn from you and your writers. Thanks for being Isaiah 45:1-3 to many for it is so obvious that your good God has grabbed hold of your "write" hand and gone before you to level mountains in the lives of the people you touch and HE is giving away the treasures of darkness so that we may know that it is our beautiful Lord Who summons us by name. I hear God calling me through you. I think many women do.

Congratulations to all. I was away since Sunday afternoon. My sister-in-law has dial-up. Oh, my goodness. It took soooo long just to load up the page, so I decided not to comment until I get home. Just got home @ 9:30pm. I am so proud of all those who entered the contest. It was such fun. To all who didn't get picked, God bless us all. He works for the good of those who love Him.

I am so excited for the opportunity. I believe that when the time is right, God will place everything in its rightful places and work all the puzzles.

I am praying about She Speaks. I really want to go, but it is in His hands.

God bless us all.
