Good Morning bloggy friends. We made it back safe and sound. But not without a little heart break. I have a few pictures to show you from our trip--- but only a few. You will notice that there are not any pictures of us skiing.
I had planned to show you lots of fun photos of our amazing adventure. However, my camera is missing.
I had taken some pictures of the beautiful sunset I saw out the window of the plane last night and that's the last time I saw it. When I opened up my purse to get the camera out when we got home--- it was gone. Art feels very confident that someone found it on the plane, will turn it into lost and found, and that we'll get it back. I am praying that is the case. I went to bed crying about this last night but am having a better perspective this morning.
Here are some sweet perspectives that God is teaching me through this situation.1. Keep it in perspective. Ultimately, the camera and the photos are just stuff. Many other people are waking up this morning with situations so far beyond this. So, I'm making the choice to be thankful for the memories, hopeful for the return of the camera, but settled if we never get it back. I do have these few pictures that were taken with a different camera. Aren't my friends Dean and Suzy cute???
2. I am called to abide with God, not just visit with Him. To abide means to realize that God loves me and will work good from this, even if I never know what that good is. To truly abide means to press in and embrace what God can teach me through every situation. If I'm merely a visitor of God and not an abider, I resist what I need to learn from this and see it as nothing more than a reason to be frustrated and angry.
3. Lastly--- Hopefully, I will learn a lesson through this that will serve a bigger purpose in the future and protect me from experiencing something even worse.
No matter what happens, I am choosing to praise God this morning for the whole trip and asking Him to burn the memories deep in my head and heart. That way, with or without pictures, I can remember and smile. I have no idea if any of this resonates with you or a situation you are facing, but if so take heart and know you are not alone.
NOW FOR THE BIG "Acquire Cup" announcement. It was the most narrow victory we have ever had in any Acquire Tournament. Yesterday, Dean came in fourth and I came in first for the last round. That made us tied in the overall standings. So, we added up the cash total and the picture below explains the rest.

Congrats Dean! We'll be sending the trophy your way!
