Today was amazing.
We got to sit on the set of a major motion picture and learn so much about making movies, how many people it takes to make even the smallest scenes work, and the yummy food that is served all day long. I watched Eddie Murphy and his pint sized, 6 year old co-star do a precious scene for their upcoming movie. Then we sat in the editing studio where the directors and producers decided which angles and which shots would make the cut.
The producers we are here with are simply some of the nicest people you'd ever want to meet. They love their families and want to make movies that they could bring their own kids to watch. I'm very glad we have had the opportunity to meet them, hear their heart, see their work and ponder the possibilities for our movie.
After sitting on the movie set, they toured us all around the huge Paramount complex and truly made us feel like queens for the day.
But if you've ever looked at the glitz and glam of Hollywood and thought you were missing out, you're not. Oh my friend, the scenes that play out in our own homes each day are so amazing, if only we'll stop and savor them. There are so many more things I could tell you about from my experiences today but I feel compelled to just share one thing tonight.
Life in its richest form is not found in some far off place. It is found where those you love the most are. So, go throw your arms around someone you love that you do life with everyday and tell them how much they mean to you. And tell them how thankful you are that they play a starring role in your life.

From My Heart to Yours: I've decided that Christmas does not mark the end of this year, it's the beginning of the next! Beginning this month, I want to laugh more, worry less, dance in my kitchen and eat on the porch! I want to enjoy being with the ones I love while they're still with me. And when I am with them, I really want to be there. This Christmas, our family will put up lots of colored lights even though I am a "white lights" kind of girl because that makes their hearts smile! I've decided to email less so I have more time for real-life connections with friends and family. I want to listen and love with words I speak, and even more so with those that I don't. My prayer is the same for you. My hope is that you and I will look back on 2008, when Christmas returns, and we'll celebrate - not what where we went, not even what we did, but how we lived!
