I know the title of this post is a little shocking but hear me out. I'm not the one who said it. A few years ago, a friend of mine declared this statement boldly as she left her family determined to find something, someone better.

I think about that statement often, "The Grass isn't greener on the other side. The grass is greener where you water and fertilize it." I am challenged once again, even as I write these words to think, "How have I been watering and fertilizing my marriage recently?" Worth pondering I think! Especially since today is my 15th wedding anniversary.
We are going out to dinner tonight. Somewhere cheap and fast, as we've got a whole clan of kids that will be needing help with life shattering emergencies--- such as my middle schoolers fretting about what color did Hannah Montana wear on her show today? And my second grader eager to share who played with who on the playground. And my highschoolers---well, they are boys so they won't be wanting to talk about much except- can you spot me a little gas money?
Anyhow, we will have a few minutes over some cheap food to celebrate our very rich lives. All because two people fell in love and make choices most days to stay that way.
