Yesterday I spent several hours catching up on writing thank you notes. "Hours?", you say. Yes, hours. I was quite behind. You see I have felt convicted lately to make a better effort to remember to thank people. Not only does this acknowledge that I appreciate them but it also reminds me of all the things I have to be thankful for!
What spurred on this new thank you resolution? Well, recently many people took the time to wish me a happy birthday either with a card, gift, or phone call. I wanted them to know how much it touched my heart so I wrote a thank you to each one. It felt so good to thank people that after I got through my birthday list I wanted to keep going. I prayed and asked the Lord who else I might need to thank. He kept bringing people to mind so I kept writing.
My hand was quite tired by the time I signed, sealed and mailed the last card but my heart was incredibly full of joy. Need a little joy boost in your day today? Well, grab a pen and ask the Lord who might need a thank you note from you. Maybe it would be a good idea to stick a few thank you notes in our Bible and make writing thank you notes a part of our quiet time time each day. What do you think? Oh, and by the way... thank you for reading my blog!
