"Lysa Terkeurst is the best speaker we have ever had! Her life stories spoke to all of our women~ women of all ages and all seasons of life. We are still hearing incredible stories of life change from women who came home and put into practice the Biblical principles of faith that Lysa taught. She was a dream to work with and was sensitive to the needs of our group, while being open to the Spirit to lead her as she spoke and ministered. Lysa is real and transparent. She will not only move you to tears and laughter, but to a closer and more authentic walk with Christ."

I was so excited when I found the Encouragement for Today messages and am taken back to that retreat every single time that I see your name on the message of the day. That retreat profoundly touched my life and I just wanted to thank you. May God richly bless every day of your life as you bless the rest of us."

Pregnancy Care Center Banquets and Adoption Fundraising Events:
After finding great healing in her local Crisis Pregnancy Center's post abortion Bible study, Lysa has gone on to be a voice for the unborn. Sharing her own tragic choice of abortion in podiums throughout the country, she is determined to help women heal from the shame of abortion and even more urgently to help those in a crisis pregnancy to choose life. Lysa has also gained a unique perspective on the beauty of adoption since adopting her sons from Liberia, Africa. Her story has inspired audiences nationwide, including coverage on The Oprah Winfrey Show.
Here is what some directors had to say after having Lysa at their events:
"To listen to people talk, the best thing we’ve ever done was invite Lysa to Abilene. We’ve been complimented, praised to the hilt and chewed out (by a person who said I didn’t tell her how good it was going to be so she hadn’t cancelled a standing (big) hair appointment to attend). Congratulations. Well deserved praise!"
"Lysa was wonderful and her personal assistant, Holly Good was an angel! God used Lysa's message to challenge us all and the response was incredible."

This is a must read for any mother who needs to know that she is not alone on this crazy journey of motherhood."

Ok, not sure about blogs either. I have the feeling I am posting in the wrong spot... Hopefully someone will read this.
I have been subribing to recieve the devotional from Proverbs 31 for some time now. But I only started reading it here recently.
I am a recovering alcholic. Sober today 20 days Praise God. I have to say that reading your devotionals has been a great blessing and huge help. I redicated my life to Christ today at church.
I just want to thank you for your Devotional emails.
Martin (bannoc@hotmail.com)
I just want to Thank the Lord for you ladies. You are such an inspiration. I first heard you on my local christian radion station new life 91.9, and have subscribed to the daily devotionals ever since. You ladies are such a blessing. I look forward to the devotions every morning
I have never used a "blog" before. My kids make fun of me because I didn't even know what IMing meant. I am not even sure I am doing this correctly, but here goes...Last Spring after surfing the web for Women's minsitries I came across the info for the She Speaks conference. Without any hesitation I signed up and have been blessed ever since. I went to the conference to see if I had what it takes to be a speaker but what I walked away with was so much more. Speaking was secondary to what I learned. God wants an obedient heart from me. I was refreshed and renewed when I left the conference and I have been continually growing stronger each day. God has certainly blessed you and I pray that He continues to bless your ministry. I anxiously look forward to next years conference.
Lysa, I gave up reading the newspaper 5 months ago and use the time each morning for devotionals and time in the word. It has blessed my life and strengthened my walk like nothing else. I wake each morning with a hunger for God's Word...what a difference it has made in my life to start each day with Good News! TV is next!
God Bless You! Joni
I found Proverbs 31 website while searching for a women' Christain site that could speak into my life. I was going through a hard time in my marriage, adultery, disconnection, the works and in all the fight with my Maker and he telling me He was going to change me and preserve my marriage, I dug and sought help online and found your site. I have been immensely blessed and hope one day to share the lessons learnt. I have ben keeping devotionals of my journey and feel one day I will wrtite for all to read. My New Birth Journey will be a ministry to women, not only those who have experienced adultery, not only those like me who have a child from the adultery, but every woman who deeply love God and want their live to count for him. Keep up the good work.
Blessings, Michelle Lee
Boy I am so excited!
I've just been on line for about 6 months. No one would help me, but ALL told me that I needed to do this. So here I am 6 months later. Chatting on Bloggs of different types speading the GOOD news. This site is wonderful. It is like going over to friends houses.
Like I say in our little Ministry Newspaper - WGATAPNEWS@netbusiness.com
'WE ALL HAVE A MINISTRY, WHAT IS YOURS'. In other words instead of you talking about someone else & WHAT THEY ARE OR ARE NOT DOING, WHAT ARE YOU DOING to help God spead HIS word.
And people like the ones with this fantastic site are what we've been talking about for over 14 years! Praise GOD.
Love You MORE
eve
My comment to Michelle Lee. I read your comment and my heart goes out to you. I am recovering from an A (affair) as well. It has been nearly two years of intense therapy for the both of us, and an emotional roller coaster. The Lord has taken me and my husband to a new level we have never imagined would happen. We've been married 23 years and at the time of discovery at 21 years I was ready to throw in the towel and walk away. So many times I told the Lord I can't do this (stay in the marriage), I don't have the strength, how would I ever forgive him, the mental flashes would never go away. Well, they all have by the power of God. The Lord is so wonderful. My husband and I are like honeymooners again but even better.
I look forward to reading your book. I'm sure there are a lot of helpful insights that can aid a lot of women who experience the trauma. It truly is a trauma that only GOD can heal. Soul pain is wrenching and earth shattering but the Lord is the Devine Healer in all.
God bless
Hi,
I heard your story today on Focus on the Family. Your story describes much like the story of my wife. She was abandoned by her father as a small child. Sexually abused by a relative. And grew up with her physically (and still to this day) verbally abusive mother.
She has basically given up on life. She goes to work ,which is the only thing in life she really enjoys, she comes home and sleeps until time to go back to work. She will no longer attend church, she will do no house work at all. She does a little to help take care of the children but not much. I managed to get her to go to a counselor for a couple visits- but she said it was to hard. I could go on but I'm sure you get the idea. We've been married 17 years and her condition just gets worse every year. She gets more and more detached from life and family. For years I have sought help for her , but with no results. I have read all kinds of books on sexually abused children , and she has all the classic symptoms. She lives behind a wall away from the family and with no real friends. My question is and I'm very serious. What can I do to help?
I have taken on almost all the responsibility for the home and kids and everything else. Will you pray for us please? If there is any advice you have for me - will you please post it here? I want to help her so badly but its been years and things just get worse and worse. Thanks
I too heard your story on Focus on the Family this morning and I must say that it really moved me. I am a believer in God to the fullest extent and at times when I'm so appauled by the things that God allows to happen or why things are making a bad turn or when are things going to get better, its the 2 seconds that people like you catch me before I fall and become the reason that God made people like you. Even through trauma you became a person of so much faith and with the way things are in the world thats the kind of push we need. So i just wanted to say thank you. You are one of the reasons my faith is revived each day.
To the husband with the wife that was sexually abused and is now checked-out on life...please, please be straight-forward with your wife about where you are at with your feelings about her state-of-mind and how it may be affecting your children. DON'T accuse her, but DO describe your own feelings to her and those of your children. Look up New Life ministries and get plugged in with them. They are very specific to helping you find healing for these types of issues. Their conferences are quite expensive, but may be just the thing your wife needs and they do offer some scholarships. Please do not give up - God has brought you to this place for help. Also, both messages you heard on the Focus show can be streamed from your computer (for free)so maybe at bedtime you could ask your wife to snuggle up in bed with or without you and listen to Lisa's testimony. I will pray for you and your family sir. With love in Christ.
To Larry M,
Thank you for your advice and prayers.
I will try to talk to my wife. Usually bringing up the "issues" only makes her go deeper into depression. I know about New Life. I think some of their stuff would be very helpful, but the only way my wife would attend would be by God's intervention. She truely has almost completely shut down. I don't mean to be a whiner but I am alone in this. Things are really getting worse and there is no person that I can talk to. Thanks for your prayers. I really mean it . Thank you for the encouragement I will post here if there is any change.
To Larry M
Same anonymous as above- I called Focus on the Family today. And I got some advice from a counselor by phone. I want to thank you again for your prayers. Will you pray for my encouragement in particular? I can't talk to anyone about this. And its easy to get discouraged and off track when you are fighting alone.
Dear Anonymous from above,
I am sure Larry M has and will continuing praying you and your family. Thank you for keeping us posted. I want you to know that I am praying for you as well.
I am so thankful you were able to connect with a Focus counselor over the phone.
Blessings!
Lysa
Lysa, (from anonymous above)
Thank you for your support.
I promise I will not inundate you with questions. But I would like to ask one of you or anyone else reading here.
I have for years reached out to ministries for advice on the subject of being the husband of an abused wife. With the number of abused women in the United States , I simply can't be the only husband struggling with this situation. I think this is a huge ministry need that is going unmet.
Do you agree? Do you think the problem is so infrequent that it does'nt really need that much attention? I have been in churches and listened to literally hundreds of hours of Christian radio over 20 + years, and I don't think I've heard a single program or seen a book on the subject. Thank you again for your prayers for my family. God Bless
I was reading the Encouragement for Today...about God's provision....and I couldn't help but think of Corrie TenBoom...and her story of the concentration camps. I think the beauty of our relationship with our Lord, is that it does not depend on the outward circumstances of this life. My prayer for myself is that I will sing His praises because He is worthy! ...not because things are so good for me here....and I realize that is a very BIG prayer!! Thank you for all the words of wisdom you share with us at this site!! God bless you!
