Many of you have contacted me asking how you can see the interview we did on the Oprah show. So, here are the two links where you can watch it straight from your computer. My greatest hope from being on this show is that people can see how incredible it is to say yes to our amazing God. As you watch this, ask God to speak to your heart and get ready for amazing things to happen when you simply say yes!

I live in Rock Hill, SC and didn't even know this was going on around me. I received your e-mail today (8-10-07) about the misprint on the August 3rd devotion and just clicked on your web site to see what was there.
In exploring I chose your tab on the Oprah Show. I have wathced the two viedo's and it was all I could do to keep the tears from falling. This is an amazing story and I just wanted to thank you for sharing. Thank you for being an inspiration to us all and showing the world what Love is all about.
I will be praying for all the families and may the Lord bless you.
Nicole
Dear Lysa,
I am very happy that the August 3rd misprint occured because it prompted your Email that reminded me of my intention to commend the spirit in your group of friends. Every since viewing the Oprah interview I have prayed to God that someday I will live in your area.
Much Love In HIM,
Sharon
I as well got your email about the misprint devotional and really didn't understand what that was all about. I clicked on your website wanting to find the devotional that you were so worried about. A little nosey, you think? :) Well instead, I came across the Oprah Show tab and decided to see what that was all about. My husband and I both watched both video's and got such a wonderful blessing from hearing all of your stories. I love your testimony, I love your love for God, and will continue to look forward reading your devotionals from my email through Proverbs 31. You'll probably be amazed how God used the misprint, to reach a lot of people in being blessed, by trying to figure out, what in the world is she talking about??? God bless you and your family, and thanks for inspiring me with your life.
In Christ,
Teresa

Similarly to the other posts, I found this because of the letter you sent out in response to August 3 devotion. I have been subscribing to P31 for quite some years now and am always encouraged. I was away on Aug.3 and quite taken back by your letter because I could not imagine Prov 31 being so harsh as to warrant a personal note. I went back, read the post, and found no issues with it. I then went back to your note, followed the links to this show. I sat at 5:30AM with tears flowing at this testimony to God's grace and love. It was powerful to see all of you displaying obedience and being blessed through following what you felt Him leading you to do. Knowing how many viewers Oprah has, I just pray that God's tesimony spoke to hearts of those that don't know Him enough to seek Him out. I know this aired som time back and had tried to find it once on line with no sucess. Yes, God is great and His praise fills the earth! Blessings to you all.
With the amaxing love that only He can give,

Amazing! I am another soul that clicked on your blog to try to find the devotion mentioned, and instead clicked on Oprah and WOW! Tears were streaming down my face as I watched how the Glory of God unfolded within yours and the other families lives. I would read other devotions in regards to your two sons, but did not know the story until now. What a way to start my day.
Sandy (mom to seven)
This is so funny how God wanted our eyes to be open to the blessing of those 31 adoptions. I will add your families to my prayer list! I still have no clue about the Aug. 3 devotional, haha.
Judi
When I read your response to the August 3 email, which did not ring a bell to me, I thought "wow, there is amazing humility at what seems to be a high level of influence". Then I searched out the August 3 email. Having read several parenting books and studying out scriptures on discipline, I read the August 3 email without finding any areas of concern. I've read much harsher stances. However, I applaud your desire to vulnerable with your thoughts.
The spirit moved me to take a look at the email again and I noticed the link to your blog. My heart echoes the thoughts of the other post and how amazing it is that God has opened our eyes to the amazing things He does through us. My husband and I have often spoke of adoption. Having two children we have not fully embraced the idea. God has it on our hearts for a reason and I will continue to pray that God will lead us in the direction He has designed for us. What an incredible inspiration for us.
I'm a brazilian who reads the Proverbs 31 devotionals everyday. As others have said I also tried to find the 3rd August devotion and ended up clicking on your blog and watching the two videos. They were really touching and I was deeply blessed! I've always nurtured in my heart the desire of adopting orphans, but now I'm sure I'll do that when I get married!!
Thank you for sharing your beautiful testimony with us,
Márcia
I would be yet another that just happened across your blog by reading someone else's. The Lord has definately put it in our hearts to adopt and expand our family but the path is not clear at this point. We did just recently hear a broadcast on Focus on the Family discussing a church in Washington State that has been able to help others in their state to adopt - with no fees!!! They are praying to have at least one church in every state pursue this along with them in placing all the orphans right here in our country in homes with families. Given that so many want to adopt but cant afford it, this ministry that this church has been blessed to lead, could be an answer for thousands!! My husband and I are looking into this ministry to bring to the attention of our leadership and if its God's will, we will be used in this ministry in a mighty way right here in NC!!
What a huge blessing to watch the videos & hear your story ... and your friend's stories about your precious adoptions! Thank you for listening to the Lord ... for stepping out in fatih ... loving these precious kids & sharing with them the most important thing in all the world -- about Jesus Christ! My husband & I are very blessed and thankful for our 3 children -- two we were extremely blessed to adopt at their birth. Adoption is a beautiful experience! We are so blessed! I watched the videos with tears coming down! Thank you for sharing!
Can't hold back the tears!!! Yeah God!!! Thanks for sharing your story. Consider another friend...sister in Christ praying for you, your family, your friends and their families. May God bring on His assignments and may we embrace them the way you did!!! I will be looking for mine :)
What a powerful testimony! My Christian grandmother, just weeks before her death said, "We're just ordinary people who serve and extraordinary God!" That sentiment rang clear in this program!
Praise Him for accomplishing this marvelous thing in your midst!
Dear Lysa,
I am so in awe of the power of God's love in your family and in your community!
I so want to be crying right now , because my heart was so touched!
It is really no accident that I stumbled across your blog, because God has been teaching me so much about adoption, and His love!
All I can think of is the verse that says,"Behold what manner of love the Father has given unto us, that we should be called the children of God!"
I can't wait to talk about you and your wonderful community on my blog!
Praise God for His glory in your lives!
love in Christ,
Elaine

Dear Lysa,
Thank you for obeying God and listening to His word. You have been a huge blessings to share your story/testimony. I am amazed how God works.
Hey Lysa,
I just watched the Oprah videos for the first time! Wow!!! What an awesome testimony. May God continue to bless your family and may He be glorified through the lives of Mark and Jackson.
Love to you,
Naomi
i absolutely love your story and i know that you are blessed. it is so nice of you to listen to gods word . i actually have the privilage of knowing mark and jackson, they go to my highschol, and i dont know jackson that well but i love mark and i think he is super nice.
Wow. I just found your blog today, I just joined a mom's group and they are reading one of your books, so I went searching. I cannot watch this story without bawling, just crying. It just touches me, amazing. I look forward to learning more about you, and finding your books :)
AMAZING!! I'm so glad the Oprah Show didn't edit the glory you gave to God for doing such an incredible work in your lives with the adoption of these beautiful children! I'm sure there have been difficulties bringing new children into your homes, but I'm also sure the blessings have been immeasurable as well. What an inspiration you all are. Thank you for your obedience.

I just watched the Oprah video on the boys from Liberia. I just returned from Liberia and I found the people to wonderful, caring, kind, gracious people. I look forward to return to Liberia to see my Liberian sisters and brothers in Christ. Everyday, I think I can do so much more for the people of Liberia than just go on a short term mission trip. Not sure what that will look like, but God is Good....All the Time and HE will show me.
Lysa, I saw this show when it originally aired on Oprah and was moved to tears then. God has brought adoption to my mind so many times, especially when we lost our first pregnancy. We now have a healthy, amazing 17-month-old son of our own, but adoption is still a possibility in our future. I get the Proverbs 31 devotionals emailed daily, and have been praying for God to lead me to the right Bible Study for me to do next. I saw the link to your blog today and followed it and saw the Oprah link. I had no idea that you were the woman I saw on Oprah so long ago! I feel led to purchase your Bible Study, What Happens When Women Say Yes to God. I'll let you know what happens! Thank you for being such a fine DISPLAY of His splendor on Oprah that day. You make your fellow Christians proud!
Hi Lysa;
(((((((hug)))))))
Thank you so much for sharing your story and your friends stories with me. What a blessing to see all those sweet faces, beaming because they were chosen, because they are loved.
You did such a wonderful job at clearly stating God's voice in your life. How awesome is that on television or the internet!
May God bless you and keep all of you, May He guide you in each step of the journey called parenthood. May this video clip bring Him glory and may it open eyes to see that yes they can too (adopt)!

Dear Lysa,
Wow this is one pwerful story of God's love touching the hearts of his children.
Such a wonderful blessing these families are to help these young families, to give them a future and a hope and love such as they have never known, thanks for sharing this...now i must go and dry my eyes too
Wow! What an awssome way for God to bring all of you together!
WOW, from me too! I am blown away! God brought me to this site and not by accident!
I just received and email from "Encouragement for Today", clicked on Lysa's blog, and clicked on the Oprah link to see what it was all about.
God knew I needed this confirmation that we are doing the right thing in regards to adoption. (We already have 3 of our own children.) My husband and I have it on our hearts to adopt also and are now in the beginning stages thru Antioch Adoptions in Washington state..the "no fee" adoption agency Focus on the Family highlighted. We know several families who have adopted thru them and have had great experiences.
Life can get in the way though, as we try to plan and figure out how it will all come together...finances, opinions, schooling, vehicles, housing, etc. We know we need to have faith in God to work it all out if it's His will (and we know he calls us to care for the orphans!).
It is encouraging to hear about amazing stories like yours! Thank you and may you, your friends, & family be abundantly blessed!
Dear Lysa,
I think this is a wonderful thing you have done for God's children. This touched my heart so much. You and your friends are doing something I wish I could do. I live in Pike County, Kentucky. And I am a widow. I have 3 grown Children and 5 Grandchildren. They are such a blessing from God. I love Children. They are our future.
Stay blessed and keep up the good work you are doing.
Your Sister In Christ
The way God works in our lives always amazes me. He looks into our hearts and knows how to use us to fulfill the needs of others. He knew what needed to be done to help these children and Lisa he spoke to you. You then shared this with your friends and God then spoke to them. What great things God can do for us, if we only open our hearts and minds and listen. May we listen to God in our lives and open our hearts for the blessings that he has to offer. God has truly blessed you and your family.
If we would just listen and jump to respond when God nudges our hearts...look what beautiful things He does!
I came to your site because of the "Cool Christmas Give Away" email. I ended up watching the Oprah segment. The past several months I have been developing a heart for orphaned children in Africa. I see Him working in our lives as we work through the decision to keep trying for more children or to adopt. Your interview encouraged me that the Lord will show us what He wants in our lives. Have you written a book about it yet? I know that you adopting didn't come out of the blue. The Lord was preparing your heart so that you could even hear His voice that day that you heard the boys sing. You were ready that day that He spoke to you. I want to be ready...
I stand in amazement when God's people listen and are faithful to his command. I watched the videos and was struck. I want to be obedient to any calling God gives. We support a child from another country and it has been a blessing. May God continue to bless you all
I have truly been blessed as I follow God and that He has led me to you Lysa and your beautiful story after my own heart.
Praise God for the Awesome Movie that God has set in action.
I praise HIM for your encouraging newsletters as well. Congratulations on your obedience reward...and a larger quiver full!!
How awesome your story is, just watched the Oprah clips for the first time. I have never adopted, but I've had several children and adults live with me and my husband over the years, my husband used to tease me by saying, "most people bring home stray cats and dogs, you bring home people" haha I'm am so touched by your act of kindness and selflessness. God Bless you all these familys. Sherry purpleshears@bellsouth.net
What a change of culture shock for you. I am so happy for you. You've taken a step of faith and led these children to a life changing experience that they would've never had.
Long ago when I was begging God not to use me as a guinea pig to enhance people's lives, God said, "no, no, Shoua, you have it backwards, you see, many lives have lost because they were used as guinea pigs to save you." I was in awe and overwhelmed with God's truth. You see, I was born in the Country of Laos (the country used by the US CIA as a contract to launch their missiles to fight against Vietnam: The contract states that if they lose the war, then our people would be brought to this country for shelter and safety)and when the Vietnam War ended, we were brought to this country as the result. For the longest time, I've found no purpose and appreciation for this war. Everyone hated Asians everywhere I go and I was not at peace. But, when God told me how obsecure my vision was, I was in awe of God's determination to save me. No wonder the enemy works so hard to bring me down.
My point is, the children you've adopted has a deep appreciation for your gift of parenting that no expression can ever fulfill that wonderfulness.
God bless you.
Shoua
Totally amazing. Many years ago we had children stay with us from the African Children's Choir. Our hearts fell totally in love with them. We longed to adopt them, but it was not possible.
Praise the Lord that you have been given this awesome opportunity to change the lives of these children. Our God's plan is far greater and magnificent...we cannot even begin to know the whole picture here on this earth.
This was just aired recently here in the Philippines and I only saw part of it. I'm so glad you made these videos available to us. What a wonderful inspiration you all are to me and to the rest of the world. May the Lord continue to use you in amazing ways! Have a blessed year ahead of you! =D (And yes, like all the others, I couldn't help but shed tears since I know a few Africans who had studied here and their desire/dedication to serve the Lord in their countries despite the prevailing condition of poverty, sickness, etc. is a powerful testimony indeed.)
I was browzing Proverb's 31 website and came upon your Blog and saw the Oprah video's and was curious???!? OH What a wonderful surprise to watch these video's and hear about your adventure with God. The tears just flowed and my heart was blessed.
God Bless You all,
Love and Prayers,
Stephanie M. from FL.
Dear Lysa and family,
What a picture of God's Love, being demonstrated by His children.
Your example will encourage others to listen to God's voice and in obedience respond to His direction.
May the Lord richly bless you and your beautiful family.
Lysa,
Yours and your friends stories are amazing! I cried so hard!
Hugs,
Sue
Lysa,
I honestly cannot stop the tears right now. I saw this show on Oprah many months ago and was so touched that I saved it on TeVo and watch it every so often. I have prayed for you and your family and your friends and their family regularly since then. I never would have dreamed that I would ever be able to communicate with you other than to simply speak to God in prayer regarding you.
Your stories have so touched my heart and I am so blessed to have witnessed (even if it was via TV) the miracle that God gave to you.
You have my prayers and my utmost respect. God bless you all!
I watched this beautiful story last year, and was so happy to happen upon your blog and rewatch it tonight. Brought me to tears once again.
I am the adoptive mother of five children, and we also live in Charlotte, NC.
Thank you for your godly example. I am sure this demonstration of James 1:27 has brought the Lord much glory.
Juli
hi lysa,
thank you for this. i'm a single gal (my name is lisa) and eager to do something like this. however i'm the type of person that jumps into things and though eager and willing, i feel so unsure of God's specific calling and timing.
tell me, did you feel in your heart that two of the boys were yours and then did they approach you without any clue at all that God was telling you to take two, or that you were even interested, and then call you "mom"? if that was totally a "coincidence" i can see how you knew for sure...
i have so many well-meaning people looking at the messes of my life and telling me to take things slowly and know for sure...
thanks,
lisa
Me again! After looking to see if you had a book on your experience, I stumbled on the videos. Wow, I definitely cried as I thought perhaps God's plan for the little boy David that I've been waiting for since I was 14 years old (I have three children, two teens from my first marriage and a 2-year old with my spouse, and none are named David) might not come in the form I expect, as I recently lost (the second such loss in my lifetime) a child in the early stages of pregnancy at the age of 42. I don't know God's plan for me and my husband, for our family, but your story and that of your girlfriends (what awesome friends!!!) will serve as a key should a day come that God calls me to make such a leap, if that is His will. Thank you!
Hi Lysa- I am new to the Proverbs 31 site as I found it via a friend's blog post regarding the She Speaks conference. I am so glad I did. Your testimony of the will and work of the Lord is amazing. He's AMAZING.
Thank you for sharing it. I enjoyed the video- your openness with Oprah and the world of your relationship with the Lord, and your obedience to adopt (and begin a domino effect of adoptions) as the Lord spoke to your heart.
I look forward to following your posts now that I have foudn your blog.
In Christ-
CHelle'
Hi Lysa. I have no idea how I found your blog today but once I was here, I went to the Oprah link because I am such a fan. I had no idea that I would find such a beautiful story of obedience to God's calling. I, too, am an adoptive mom having adopted 3 children through the foster care system. I had no intention of adopting when we started but we are now working on our 4th adoption, a sibling of one of our children. If you would like to see my beautiful children here is my blog - www.xanga.com/Nanny_Kate_1 May God continue to bless you and your family.
Lysa, you BRUNG IT ON on Oprah!! I watch her daily and she usually edits out the overt God references. I think even she realized that ONLY God could have caused these families to happen!
Man,
I didn't know about this either. Now was this before O opened up the Home for the Children in Africa? If it was then I can see why she continued on with this wonderful thing.
We are ALL lights in darkness. Thank you Father for our glow ;0).
Love you MORE
Eve
WOW! Talk about the power of God to get His message to the world! He can use the airwaves to talk freely of His desire to change a life! He is THE ALMIGHTY!
It's interesting how this can be going on in your area of the country and you have no idea. Since I don't watch Oprah much I had no idea about any of this.
This is just an amazing thing to see.
I am guessing this happened in 2006 by the date on the video.
Tell me more. How many children have been adopted to date? Do you all go to the same church? How has it been?
I love our amazing God that speaks in such profound ways. What a testimony of Him you all gave on Oprah!
I'd love to know more.
Blessings,
Julie
Wow! What an incredible story of obedience! I must have heard your story before, because it rang a bell. For some reason though I was thinking Karen Kingsbury did this. Maybe she did too? Thanks for sharing!
I am wondering what everyone is thinking about this new church Oprah has started and is the leader of??? I haven't had time to do a lot of research into it yet, but I have heard that it is very anti-God and much like a cult. I look forward to your responses
It was so nice hearing (and speaking a little with you) last Sunday at First Baptist Church Oviedo. You have a great, great testimony. It was shame that the church wasn't packed.
Whatching the Oprah video I can see how you and your friends have been more than a blessing for those boys and their siblings. I still get amazed at how God works!
I just pray that Opra can also open her eyes and see how real God is. She can do so much more with her show. God has given her a gift and I pray she sees that.
Ziana D (singer)
Hi Lysa I am new to your website. I just watched the Oprah video and what a wonderful blessing these boys are to you & your friends. God is awesome. I also pray Oprah will open her eyes to the one & only true God. I no longer watch Oprah since she began discussing the "Secret". A relative tried to get me to watch the DVD and I refused. Jesus Christ is the only way, truth & life and his gift is free and there's no secret about that. God Bless
Hi Lysa,
As an adoptive mom, your story brought tears to my eyes and joy to my heart! This is an incredible story of God moving and forming families through the great gift of adoption! Thank you for sharing on Oprah, which can be quite a controversial things for Christians to do! But, a great forum for millions to see God!!

I recently signed up to recieve the encouragement for today devotional which is truly a blessing and clicked on the link to the proverbs 31 site and watched the Oprah videos. I must say that it was very touching and it brought tears to my eyes because God is truly amazing and He works through many different people. May your families be blessed.
Lysa, I have just in the last week discovered P31 and I have enjoyed the daily devotionals very much. However, yesterday I followed a link to your website and watched the Oprah Show videos. I had not known anything about these boys from Liberia or you and the other Charlotte families who have adopted them. I sat in tears, chills running all over my body, as I watched these videos, and was reminded what an Awesome God we serve. I went on a Mission Trip last August with 8 other Members of my Church, Philadelphia Baptist Chapel, in Greensboro, to do a small construction project for one of the Hope for the World - Albania orphanages in Shkoder, Albania. On the day we were to complete our project and leave to head for home, I met a 13 year old girl at the orphanage named Kristina, who has been in this orphange since she was 3 years old. Kristina asked if she could speak to me. Of course, I happily obliged, thinking she wanted to know about America, or North Carolina, or anything but what she really wanted to ask. She looked into my eyes and said to me through an interpreter, "Would you want to adopt me?" My eyes filled with tears and I felt as though my heart would burst. After I gained my composure, I said to her, "Kristina, I will pray and ask God what His will is." She understood this, but as we drove away and I looked back at her with tears streaming down her face from those big brown sad eyes, I KNEW why God had sent me to Albania! From the airport, I called my husband and said, "Sweetie, I think I'm pregnant!" Well, I'm 59 years old and he knew there was no chance of that, but after I told him the story of Kristina, he and I agreed that this was, indeed, a Divine appointment for us. Like you, I didn't go to Albania looking for any life-altering event...but God had other plans for my husband and me. His plan was for us to bring Kristina Eremishti to America and give her a home and the love of a mother and father and a family that includes our 2 grown children, 8 grand-children, and aunts, uncles and cousins too numerous to count! We have never waivered in our belief that this was His plan, and He has made the way for us to complete our Homestudy and have it approved, put together our entire Dossier, get the necessary approvals, and we leave for Albania in October to see Kristina and go to Court with her, and bring her home with us before the end of the year! Our God is an Awesome God! Thank you for your Ministry and thank God for what He has done and is doing through you and the other families there in Charlotte for these precious children from Liberia. Like you, I didn't go to Albania looking for any life-altering event, but God in His Divine Providence, had other plans for my husband and me, and we are so excited and humbled to be His chosen vessels. Please pray for us and we will be praying for you. In His Service...Linda Wall - Greensboro, NC
Wow I was doing some research on you cause I am going to a Ladies Conference where you are the main speaker and I just love to be in the company of people who listen to God. I can't wait to meet you in person. Tammy Sales, High Springs, Fl
Wow, I came upon your site because of a friend, but I came to this video because of the Lord!! I've always dreamed of adopting a girl to join our two boys, but since I needed to go back to work a few years ago, I assumed that God had said "no" to that prayer. I cried while watching these parents adopt older children, some later in their lives. It was like God was speaking to my heart that He hasn't forgotten my prayers of the past. I have hope that one day I may be the mother of a precious girl. Who knows!! Thank you for sharing your story and for allowing God to use you in the lives of others.
Hi Lysa -
I loved the videos! My husband and I have also been blessed to have adopted two beautiful Liberian boys. While watching your story...if I wasn't crying, I was smiling because I identified with everything that was being said. Liberia is not a country that you typically hear of when you hear about adoption so it is exciting to see other families like our family. Hearing Jackson speak with his wonderful Liberian accent that sounds just like our oldest son was so special. Thanks for sharing your story.
Many Blessings.
Lisa,
I almost don't have words! When one asks to be used of God, we are never sure how that will happen! I am inspired by your love for the boys and know that you and your husband have truly engaged in "Kingdom" work!
~Racquel~
Lysa,
A friend emailed me about this story, your story, because of the story in my own life.
We are adopting 3 children, a sibling group, from Taiwan. They are 3, 2, and 1. We have a 4 yr old and an 8 year old.
I am looking forward to sharing this story with others. Your words convey the same message from my heart.
We also have had some intial shock comments when we tell people what God has told us to do, what He has laid on our hearts.
If we love God, we will do what He asks, we will follow His plan. Better is one day in His courts, than thousands elsewhere. Who I am to tell God 'no'?
To God be the glory for the amazing work He has done through you and your friends. We just have to listen to Him, He will do the rest.
Charlotte (and the world) will never be the same with all of these families and their kiddos living out the testimony of God.
I am in awe! Words can't express how touched I am by hearing this story and the obedience of Lysa and her husband. What a Lifechanging event that is also so inspiring.
You are the reason God created Mothers....God bless you and
your family.
I have been very anti Oprah for a long time but HAD to watch your clip and see. Of course I bawled like a baby!! So touching on so many different levels...
1. Thank you for sharing Jesus with people thru Oprah
2. Thank you for following Gods calling even when it was SCARY beyond words
3. Thank you for inspiring!!
Im also an adoptive/foster mom. People OFTEN say how fabulous my husband and I are for doing it but like someone said in the clip...What we give our kids is tiny compared to what we GET BACK!! When you are aligned in Gods perfect will and never say no to him he provides and Blesses you beyond measure!!!
Those boys are AMAZING, precious, men. The one who spoke on camera just made me want to jump in and HUG HIM! What a precious young man.
I first heard you on a Christain radio station, and from there was led to your web site. As if I knew where I was going I came directly to this Oprah segment. That was back in March 2008. This week my husband and I got our referral for our beautiful new son from Ethiopia. THANK YOU for being the first step on the path God has made for us. I truely believe He sent me to your web site for the purpose of connecting us to our new child.
Blessings,
Christa
Oh my goodness, what an amazing story. I stumbled upon this address I don't even know how. Anyways what a huge blessing to all involved!! I hear of Proverbs 31 ministries on the radio station I listen to how exciting to find your blog!!
'Love has no boundaries.' WOW!! Thank you Lisa for sharing the videos. I was really touched by this story.God bless you all.
Marama
you people are sick. those children should be raised by black families
Hi Lysa!
This is such an amazing story! I saw it on Oprah when it originally aired, but I guess I never paid attention to the "CHARLOTTE, NC" part of it. Just last week (or the week before) I heard you telling the story on the radio. I was in a really big hurry, but God slowed me down! I sat in my car in my driveway to hear your entire story!
God bless you and all the families who adopted for listening when He spoke!
Lysa,
I cried while watching the taping. God has been working on my heart about the global need of children needing families. Thank you for sharing your story as God continues to work on my heart to adopt.
You wouldn't believe but I saw this when it originally aired on Oprah. And I NEVER watch Oprah. But I cried and cried and have wanted to adopt ever since. My husband and I are planning on adopting our next baby from DFCS in GA. Anyways, I've been reading your blog for a while now and never put together that it was the same person that changed my life on Oprah! :-) haha
anyways, what an amazing story - i love how God works! :-)
Lysa,
I had the pleasure of hearing your story, as you told it, at Hope Pres. in Memphis TN yesterday. It was very moving. I just wanted you to know, as I sat and listened, God spoke to me to get involved through missions. I have never had the desire to go (the bug thing) and was always content to give money. But now I realize I can do more...an ordinary person, through God can do extrodinary things! May God Bless you and your wonderful family
Dear Lysa, and friends,
Because you will be in our area soon, I was pointed to your site by a friend. My children watched this phenomenal testimony with me, and then my 5-year-old son said, "We should adopt. And, I think...three," he said, as he held up three fingers. Now he's prophesying to me about what that will look like for us--two girls (so his sister can have playmates), and one brother for him. He said, "God has really touched me...!"
Well, wow. Now, what am I to do with that!?
Always open to God's call for us--thank you for your inspiration!
Dear Lysa,
I receive your daily devotions on my email and decided to check out your website. I viewed your video that was aired on the Oprah show and was amazed. I am an ESOL teacher and teach mainly Hispanic children and other cultures. The Lord has shown me that he loves all children no matter the race, color or culture. They all have a wonderful gift to give others and the need to be loved and accepted. Thank you for sharing this story with others. I have been blessed! :)
