I've e-mailed the CBE ticket winners but don't let not winning keep you away. I would so love to meet you this weekend in Dallas!
Finally---
I am excited to announce that the 2009 She Speaks conference is already half -full!
And hello, have you heard about our bloggy speakers this year?
I am so excited because heaven's knows I need to be learning me some stuff about blogging! We will get to learn from Big Mama, Boo Mama, Chatting at the Sky, Barefoot Blogs, the Nester, and Musings of a Housewife.
And I am offering an opportunity to WIN A SCHOLARSHIP! I'll get to the specifics about the contest at the end of this post.
First, let me tell you a little more about She Speaks and why you should consider attending this year.
For Speakers:
Whether you are ready to take the main stage and start speaking at conferences and retreats or whether you want to learn how to more effectively teach a ladies’ Bible Study- this track is for you. After attending this conference you will be equipped to:
* Know how to develop a message from start to finish
* Understand what keeps an audience engaged and how to make your message memorable
* Deliver your message in such a way that not only inspires your audience but motivates them to make life changes
* Increase your number of booked speaking engagements by using proven marketing strategies.
For Writers:
You have had a passion for writing and have even had people encourage you to write a book, but have never known how to get started on the pathway to publication. You will have the chance to attend sessions taught by some of the top Christian publishers and make appointments to pitch your book proposal.
Or maybe you are a blogger and just want to learn how to more effectively connect with your readers and increase the impact of your blog. What better way than to sit in sessions taught by three of the most widely read blog authors. Whatever the case may be, after attending this conference you will:
* Discover your unique writing voice and the mechanics of effective writing
* Understand what publishers are looking for and how to write proposals that get their attention
* Better understand how to build your writing portfolio by getting published in magazines
* Know how to write a book that will impact your reader from start to finish
For Women’s Ministry Leaders:
You know first hand the unique opportunities and challenges that present themselves when you lead a ministry in your church for women. You give and serve all year long--- now is your chance to get filled back up with encouragement and training. You’ll have the opportunity to attend a Pre-Conference Intensive as well as the women’s ministry leadership track where you’ll learn how to:
* Build a dream team of ministry partners
* Cast your vision for ministry in a way others will catch it
* Distinguish God's direction for your ministry with confidence.
* Celebrate milestones of your ministry's effectiveness and keep your team inspired.
We also have a track for middle school and high school girls called The Next Generation. This track is specifically designed for girls who have the desire to speak, write, or be a stronger leader for Christ in their sphere of influence.
Now, here are the rules for the She Speaks Scholarship Contest:
1. You must have a blog. You must link back to this post.
2. Write a post on your blog that tells others a little about the She Speaks Conference and why you would like to win a scholarship.

Oh, my! Hooray!
I was just coming back by to read comments...and find this great opportunity!
I am so excited you are giving this chance again this year!!!! Thank you! :)
I just asked my hubby if he would be okay with me trying (I mean, there is no use trying if he isn't on board!)...and he said "go for it!" Yes, mam, that man deserves some waterin' and fertilizin'. ;)
Thanks, again! I'm gonna go ponder my post. :)
Have a blessed weekend! Have fun meeting Mr.Blackaby!
I will absolutely be posting about this amazing opportunity! But - no need to enter me in the contest. I am already registered, with flights booked for four of us from our church (in Red Deer, Alberta, Canada). Let me tell you, we are PUMPED! Bless you for offering this scholarship opportunity.
oooh, oooh, oooh, my heart's a'poundin'!! This could be just what I need. I'm excited!
Best of luck this weekend, dear.
Just a note to say that once again I have stepped out of my comfort zone and expanded my horizons in the www. See post. Marie Sullivan
I'm excited! Been wanting to go to She Speaks and wondering where the funding would come from.
I'll polish my keyboard and get started!
This post has been removed by the author.
Oh, very exciting! I went last year and want to go this year but have been concerned about spending the money. Thanks for the opportunity again this year, Lysa!
If you could imagine the size of my bottom lip you would know I'm having a major pout!:((
When I read about She Speaks last year it was like a tender match set to my suppressed spark of wanting to learn to write/blog.
Can I make a confession? I don't know how to set up a blog... instead I write on others! Guess that disqualifies me for the contest, but I haven't given up on my dream :)
Would love to meet all of you someday! You have already inspired me more than you'll know.
Susan
Lysa,
Thank you for this wonderful opportunity.
Do you have any idea how bad I want to get my pregnant self signed up for the She Speaks Conference? But my goodness - I am set to give birth at the end of July :) I have never been to one - and I know it will be an amazing event for so many women this year. I suppose I will have to wait until 2010 :)
Blessings to you,
Kate :)
Lysa, What an awesome idea! I am going to add some links soon to my blog. But I am paid for the She Speaks and don't want to be entered. Allowing some one else the chance to win. But I think this is such a great idea.
Diane
I'm taking a leap of faith and opening my blog for others to read. Kind of a scary thought.
I would love to attend the conference and it's so close to me I could drive!! A scholarship would be so much of a blessing.
One question. I can't find the codes for your buttons. Is there a secret I don't know about? I'd love to post them on my blog entry.
Oh Lysa-I so want to go and to enter this contest but the weekend of She Speaks is my husbands birthday. He said I could go but it just doesn't feel right. I cherish him and love honoring him, especially on his day!
I must say, I came back from last years conference released of so much that was dragging me down for kingdom work. I have stepped out in our women's ministry and am hosting a community Bible study on two seperate times each week. It is going so well. I have only just begun for Him!!
She speaks played an important role in this. Thank you! I will miss not being there this year.
In His Graces~Pamela
This makes it possible. Thank you for the chance. It will be fun reading the entries. If anyone is not sure whether they should to go or afraid they will be out of their league, take a leap of faith and try to win this. God has immeasureably more for you than you can ask or imagine. I believe He will honor every heart who enters and wants to be everything He created them to be. B
How exciting for a chance to go to the conference! What a blessing it will be for everyone who attends, I can't even begin to imagine.
Oh I am so excited. My heart is racing and thoughts are swarming...How do I capture the favor of the judges? How do I word my desires? HOW do I do the links?
If I do get to attend maybe I should sign up for the blogging 101 class.
What a blessing!
I AM JUMPING UP AND DOWN!!!!
I CAN'T WAIT TO GATHER MY BRAIN AND PUT MY THOUGHTS DOWN. THIS CONFERENCE IS A DREAM!!!
THANK YOU LYSA!!
I HEART YOU!!
Unfortunately I do not have a blog, I don't know how to start one, or maintian one. I'd like to go to the conference to learn this, but alas I do not have the funds. Maybe if I could win the contest then I could go, but I don't have a blog and I don't know how to start one (lol, hahaha) This is one of those "catch 22" situations isn't it?
Josey Bozzo
joseybozzo@greentree.org
Yeah! I am so excited about this oportunity! It would be an amazing chance to learn more about writing and bloging, two of my faves. Thanks for having such a great contest!
Thank you so much for this opportunity, Lysa!
I have wanted to attend this conference every year but never been able to. I do hope this year is different. I hear soooo many great things from SheSpeaks grads. I want to be one!
Hi Lysa!
I was just thinking about you as my baby is napping and I'm dying my eyebrows to be browner. I always think of you when I'm doing the slightest thing to my eyebrows. I know, I know...you aren't supposed to use store bought hair dye on your eyebrows, because it causes blindness and/or death or something like that. However, I am desperate to be delivered from these blond hairy things above my eyes before I go to the beach in a few days.
Anyhoo...(man, how did I get off on that tangent?) I'm 99% sure I'm going to She Speaks. I guess I better decide before the post deadline, eh?
I also need to make sure it's realistic for me to get my book proposal together before then.
Question: Can I mix up the sessions (speaker/writer/blogger) or do I have to stick with one or the other? And if I take the speaker's track, can I still meet with publishers with a proposal?
Love, Love,
Sandy
Oh I'm so excited about winning the book! Thank you sooo much!!
kimwhitton82@gmail.com
Have a great day!!
What an awesome apportunity! I've ALWAYS wanted to go but never could. I'm new to blogging so I'd love help in that area but also in the writing and speaking areas. I'm a new empty-nester and know that God has some exciting new areas to open up to me. Thank you so much for this possibility!
Much love,
Becky
Ok, seriously! I am completely blind, clueless or just plain...something. Anyway...how do I get the button link? I have looked everywhere. :(
I would love, love, LOVE to attend She Speaks! I've even floated the idea past my husband, let's just say he was less than enthusiastic and leave it at that. lol. But, I'm praying God works a miracle in his heart and my funding. God has been speaking to me a lot about my blog but I'm still a bit at a loss as to what direction he wants me to take it. I really think this conference would help me get a better handle on the whole blogging-writing-ministry-income thing. Anyway. I'll keep praying. In the meantime, I'm wondering if cds/tapes of the conference will be available to purchase afterward?
What a wonderful opportunity! Thank you!!
Wow! What an amazing opportunity. I'll be praying and polishing my entry!
Kristy
Thank you for the opportunity! I am new to blogging and just now learning about Proverbs 31 ministries. Regardless of the outcome, I will be back to learn more. Thank you again!
Thanks Lysa! What a great opportunity. I can't wait to read all the blogs. This is an awesome way to find some new bloggy friends.
Hi Lysa, I haven't visited your blog in a while, but I'm sure glad I did today. I was excited to ready about the scholarship opportunity to SheSpeaks 2009 and putting my fears aside linked my blog.
I started this blog the begining of the year to step out of my comfort zone and into the areas I believe God is leading me to.
I pray that SheSpeaks 2009 is part of His plan.
I was talking about SheSpeaks over lunch with my friend Ashley this week. Great timing. I'm going to tell her to enter too.
Paula G. <><
Hello! Thanks for the opportunity! The conference sounds wonderful.
anne
What an opportunity! I'd love to win, but I know it will be a real blessing to whoever does. I desperately need a push in the right direction right now and a scholarship would certainly make it possible for me to be there. Thanks for making it available. Cheers to the lucky winner!
Kay
Lysa, I accidently linked twice. I'm #18 and #19. #19 is the correct one. Can you delete the other one? So sorry!
Christy
ok,ok. so I wasn't going to enter but God kept it on my mind all week, so I entered!! Thank you for offering this up, very exciting!! and have enjoyed reading all the other entries and meeting amazing women
Thanks to you, Lysa, and your team for the opportunity to win!
I am so excited! I will be counting down the days until April 3rd! Thanks for the scholarship opportunity.
Hello Lysa,
Thank you for coming to Cordova, TN. It was a pleasure having you and learning of your ministry and the She Speaks Conference. I look forward to seeing you again.
Well, here goes nothin'! You can't win if you don't play, right? (At least that what the Lottery people tell me.) :)
Thanks for the wonderful opportunity, Lysa.
Hi Lysa,
It is a blessing to discover your web link through a friend who send me your link. Thank you for welcoming everyone and learn with you. It is a great opportunity to join to learn and experience. This is wonderful experience I am going to have this year.
God bless and more power
Irenie
Playing again this year. Thanks for giving away another scholarship!
I have a blog now, but when I added a post today, the link I set up yesterday for the contest when to today's post not yesterdays post that had all the contest info in it. I think I fixed that, but now I have two entries on the list. I'm sorry, I'm new to this can you remove my first link? The one further down on the list should be the right one that takes you to the page with the contest blurb on it. Sorry
Thanks for this opportunity, Lysa! What a blessing for those of us who do not have the resources to go on our own to have the chance to receive a scholarship.
I am so grateful for your ministry to women everywhere. I listen gratefully as women like you speak into our lives!
Well Lysa, how could I not write something after all the Lord did for me last year!!! I still stand in awe at my mighty God and all He put into place, as He invited me to see Him, trust Him, obey Him and love Him in a way I never had before.
Love to you...and thanks for your continued prayers,
Joy
What a treasure! Thank you for making it a possibility. What a GIFT! Can't wait to see who gets to go!
Hugs!
This has got to be the most amazing giveaway I've seen on a blog. A great opportunity.
Thanks so much for this opportunity! She Speaks sounds incredible...and I hope I'll get to be there!
Praying for whomever this scholarship blesses...knowing it will extend well past the conference. I know He already knows who it will be and how He will use them. But what a blessing if it is me! :) Thanks for the opportunity to be a part of the fun!
Thank you so much for this opportunity, Lysa! I had never heard of the conference before, and it sounds AMAZING. I'm also glad I just discovered your blog! I've read and reread "Capture His Heart" several times and can't wait to read more of your writing. I love your transparency.
Hi! My name is Darlene. I and a friend attended the She Speaks Conference in 2007. It was a beautiful Christian experience. We laughed, we cried, we shared, I laid things on the alter, and I grew closer to Christ.
The thing that inspired me the most was the prayer room. I was so touched that the P31 team had prayed for each and every attendee before we arrived and throughout the conference. What a blessing!
I would love to go again, but whoever wins will be blessed beyond measure. Thanks P31 team. you have surely touched my life.
I am so excited. Whenever I am ready to learn more or advance in my walk w/God he is there to show me the way -Thank you for this opportunity to attend. -
Sounds like a great time! I'd love to learn more about this writing/blogging stuff that I enjoy so much! Thanks!
I really don't expect to win this contest, but I sure had fun writing for it!!! Thanks for the opportunity to share Christ with some of my unsaved readers. I hope others are as blessed by this challenge as much as I just was!!!
Thanks for the opportunity to motivate others to write what the Lord has placed on the tablets of our hearts, so those who read it will run with it. The Lord knows the numerous of devotionals Proverbs 31 Ministries has written has inspired many of us to get off our feet and practiced what is written. Continue inspiring us to soar with sowing into our lives words of Truth!
~Dolli
OK...I'm up and I'm psyched.
Sandy
Hey Lysa,
I just wanted to thank you for your generosity and this opprutunity for so many women. May God Bless you for your work for the Lord!
Much love,
Tracy Jenks
This conference looks incredible! I love the seemingly sweet spirit of the Proverbs 31 Ministries team and can only imagine this conference will take on that same feel. May God richly bless this event and raise up more influential women for His Kingdom.
Oh my goodness! I so need bloggy help! I have posted twice, but only 74 works. Please delete 73. Thanks! Bless you! Bless you! Hope to meet you! Many Hugs, Elizabeth
What a blessing! Thanks so much for your ministry!
Cannot wait to be apart of something that is so incredibly blessed and gifted for the Kingdom of our Amazing God!!!! Our team is excited to share this experience together. We look forward to being trained that we may have a greater impact for the Glory of God in the days to come. Thank you for loving on women, thank you for investing in me!!! Joyfully His!!! With much love and respect for you all. ~Debbie Mascioli from New Jersey

Thanks for the opportunity!!
Hey Lysa,
Thanks so much for opening a door for a very blessed woman! This conference sounds amazing and I know that many will be blessed to attended and also by the fruits this conference will bear. Blessings!
Dana
Thank you for this wonderful opportunity to search my heart as to what I really need and as to what I see God leading me in. This was a hard post to write because if required me to take a long look at myself and the track that I am on. It confirmed my thoughts as to were I am at this time in my life. With things being a little tough I was having some doubts. If nothing else I now know that I am on the path I should be on.
Blessings Always
I posted my scholarship entry last week, but I've been reading everyone else's and it's so amazing to see so many women with hearts to serve! I feel so inspired to keep doing what I'm doing no matter what happens.
Thanks for the opportunity, Lysa!
Kristy
What an exciting opportunity! Thanks for offering this Lysa!
Deanna
My heart is beating and my hands are sweating. I hope I can...I hope I can...I hope I cah! :)
that was "can". So much for trying to be funny and cool. haha
Thank you Lysa for this opportunity. Last year, I read all the entries and came up with every reason why I was not qualified to go, fear even had me saying all the linky love was too much. Not this year!
This has caused me to sit down and voice my dream of attending She Speaks. I've talked it over with my husband and if the Lord provides a way, I will be there.
I know my God and I know He will make a way. I'm believing.
See how badly I botched that? #88 doesn't even go to my blog!!! LOL
Anybody out there afraid to mess up? You're not alone...Go for it!!
I will just post under this post until April 5 to make it easy for you. ((smiles))
I just wanted to give you an update. For those of you who have checked out my blog, you probably figured out that it is not a faith based blog at all. I have another one that is, but God challenged me to use the humorous one as the vessel for this contest instead. WOWEY ZOWEY! What a response I have gotten from my readers! I have had emails pouring in, both on yahoo and facebook, talking about this post. It reached a lot of people I never dreamed it would, and for that alone, I have already won this contest. To hear that people are so touched by the hand of God through this challenge means more to me than anyone could possibly dream! I am in awe of how He works! What an honor that we serve such a MIGHTY GOD!!!! :)
Thank you Lysa for this opportunity. I am new to the blogging community but have felt so enriched and blessed by so many women who I now call friends. I can't wait to "meet" many more and hope to eventually see your faces!
God has used just thinking about this conference to stretch me! Thank you!
I just finished my post on why I would want to come that hardly even touches all of the reasons.
Anyway, thank you so much for this opportunity.
Praying for His direction. Thanking Him that He gave you this idea.
I pray for God's direction as the judges make a decision. It's going to be a tough one because there are so many God-seeking, God-called, God-empowered women on here. Blessing to all of you!
Everything is possible with God!

God's timing is always perfect! This is an answer to many prayers.

What an amazing opportunity. Thank you for offering this and I am very excited about the lives that will be changed. I am praying that I will be able to attend.
Way to go all of you women who have stepped out in hopes to gain knowledge in doing work for the Lord!
Cindy
My URL changed this week and so that first entry/link of mine will no longer work (expired URL) - hence the second entry. Sorry for any confusion!
Thank you for giving us this opportunity to win a scholarship to She Speaks. I found out about it last year, but it was too late for me to try and attend. I was excited to learn about the scholarship and thought I'd give it a try.
Whatever happens, I will be praying for whomever is chosen. I know it will be an unforgetable experience.
How fun! A chance to win a great opportunity. Although I'll be green with envy if one of you other gals win this, I know that this is going to be an AWESOME event! Good luck to you all and happy writing, speaking, and blogging!

Finally, at 1:20 am on Friday, March 27, I found some.

Well, my heart is pounding as I enter this contest. I'm so excited! Thanks for the opportunity to enter. What an amazing conference and I can't wait to get the word out there. Lord I ask you to bless each and everyone of the ladies who has stepped out in faith for you. You are an amazing God!
Christine
What a great opportunity. Thank you. I've just realized that I'm not the only "Deanna" on the Mister Linky. Wanted to let you know that she and I are not the same person. I should've registered as Deanna R.
Thanks for this opportunity Lysa!
Thank you Lysa! I really appreciate your openness on your blog! And I really appreciate you offering this scholarship!
I am excited and hopeful about this opportunity. Thanks, Shannon
Lysa,
I'm not as eloquent as many of the ladies that have written their essays - I just found out about this contest two days ago and have been fighting to meet a client deadline, with little time to devote to my blog. I am thankful for the opportunity to even enter and consider it both a blessing and a privilege to have met you in Dallas at CBE. :) Thanks for providing a way for some lucky woman who might not have a way otherwise.
I am taking a step of faith in applying for this scholarship... for if I apply and win that definitely means that God wants me there!!
Thank you so much for offering this scholarship! I can't wait to see which lady the Lord has chosen to be blessed with it!
Blessings!
Lysa,
Thanks for this opportunity. I'm so excited to find out whose going to go!
Whew- it took me all week to get up the nerve! It's done...time to go celebrate with a TJ run!! hee hee.
Now I'm going to go read some of the other entries and make a few new friends!
Thanks Lysa and P31 team!
What a fantastic contest! I won't be able to attend the conference this year (I just had a baby 2 weeks ago), but I am definitely considering it for 2010. :)
WOW! I am so excited about the thought of getting to attend this conference.
This just may be what I need. I have been struggling with my abilities to lead a women's Bible Study in our church.
If it is God's Will for me to win this contest... This certainly will give me the fuel to cowgirl up and get her done!
I am all about pushing deadlines. Just ask the sweet women in my homeschool group. =)
I hope I am in just under the wire and I truly pray for wisdom for you gals who are reading and choosing who will be able to go.
We are on the Dave Ramsey pay down your debt plan (also known as beans and rice and hardly any fun...but don't tell Dave I said that last part). It makes an event like this a real long shot.
I'm still excited about it and I truly hope to somehow find a way to come. If not now, then another year... =)
After the week I've had with tons of doctors appointments and various deadlines that were not self-imposed, I had decided that it was just not meant to be for me enter this scholarship contest. Tonight I went to bed EXHAUSTED, but couldn't sleep. I got back up, grabbed the laptop and started typing the rough draft that had been forming in pieces all week. Now I can finally sleep knowing that I gave it a go, win or not. =)
Thank you for the opportunity and for offering such a conference.
I had to link twice because I forgot to link it to my post. oops.
OK. Had to post another comment. It might be awhile before I get to sleep now because I am enjoying looking at everyone else's blogs. Look out favorites folder!
I am wanting to find out if you accept poetry, as well as book(s) 4publication or contest winning?
Here's a sample of what I do in my creative writing:
"...So I Says to God"
Woke up this mornin' with the dew
On the grass, the breeze
Blendin' with the trees
And knew there had to be a You!
So I says to God, I says,
"Mornin', Lord.
Thank you for the chirpin' birds
A-singin'
And the church bells next door
A-ringin',
And thanks, again, for writin'
The Word.
I knows I complains a-lot -n- Doesn't try enough
Some o' da time.
I knows I Lived plenty rough
In my prime
But I ALSO knows how to cry.
Forgive my not givin' enough
Of a damn
Sometimes, but, 'Member Peter,
The disciple?
Just think of me as him...recycled.
I,too,knows You're the Great I Am."
I am late in posting, I put my link there anyway.

I am not a blogger, but I am so excited to be attending She Speaks for the first time this year for speaking and women's ministry. Many have said they couldn't afford to go. I didn't have the funds either, as well as childcare for 5 days, as well as other obstacles. So I put it in the Lord's hands to make a way for me to go to this if it was his will for me to do it. The gal I'm attending with and myself ran a rummage sale at our church strictly for the purpose of raising funds for this trip. And guess what--He provided exactly the amount we needed to cover all our expenses! Praise the Lord! If you feel led to go don't let the mountains get in the way--have faith that He can move the mountain and claim Matt. 17:20 for yourself!
